Sigh. Am I too old for a Disney-inspired bedroom?!

I would totally do it but leave off the characters themselves. Take them out and you have the feel and theme of a relaxing room in gorgeous colors.

I absolutely think you could decorate it in such a way that, if someone hasn't actually seen "Tangled," he/she wouldn't even know that "Tangled" was your theme.

And I think a Tangled inspired bedroom could actually be very romantic!

Use colors inspired by the movie, some really posh bedding, lantern lamps, some abstract "Tangled" artwork, & a gold sun mirror to hang above the bed.

Also, for fun, you could get a cast iron frying pan to use as a "tray" for perfume or something on your dresser!

omg. OBSESSED with the frying pan idea! That actually sounds so cute aahahah. I have quite large (by normal standards) makeup/beauty collection and using a frying pan as a perfume tray would be so cute and unique! Thank you for the suggestion.

I think colors and lighting are going to be a big part of making this whole thing happen. Hmmm.

I totally agree. How can it be a bad thing if it makes you happy! Do it!

Paint is cheap. You're a big girl. Decorate as you see fit. If and when you get tired of the decor, buy more paint and change it.

Life's too short to "act like a grownup" because you think you should. There are so many areas of your life where you have to be adult-- you have to go to work each day, you have to pay your bills, you have to buy insurance, you really should have a will... ths list goes on and on and on.

If a little bit of paint will make you happy, I say you go for it.

If they made Little Mermaid sheets in King size... we'd be sleeping on them. And I'm 57.;) You're NEVER too old for anything Disney. That's what I :lovestruc about it.
Nancy princess:

You guys are so right!

I think if you took inspiration from the colors & scenery leaving out the characters and castle, you could have a lovely room that has the ethereal feel without being "disney". The mural with some lush bedding would be lovely.

Oh but the castle looks so prettyyyyy. Haha. I think I would be totally fine with leaving out the characters but dat castle tho...

....I think you can tastefully decorate your room with a "Tangled" theme as long as you don't go too overboard with...sometimes less is more...KWIM? BTW ~ love, love, LOVE those pix you posted! :thumbsup2

Aren't the pictures gorgeous? Jeez louise. Just made me wanna go all the way to Tokyo Disney.

:rotfl: really!

.... what's wrong with a Pascal plushie???!?!!?? ( :rotfl2: )

LOL! Nothing at all but I think personally I draw the line at plushies, hahaha. Sad because I actually love plushies but I feel (IMHO, of course) that they just take up too much room for me to start keeping any around. :)

My aforementioned best friend (with the pirate room) just moved to a new place recently, and I came over and she was giving me the grand tour. We poked around her bedroom which was decorated very tastefully, except for a GIANT Ursula plush. URSULA?! I was like, "Is your son keeping his random Ursula plush in you room? Why does he even have one of Ursula?!"

She dropped her eyes and was like "....I wish it was [her son's], but it's totally mine. I love Ursula SHE'S THE BEST!"

hahaha. It was a hilarious moment.

:lmao: :thumbsup2

....psssst - Pascal is a diminutive fella; you could always stick him under a pillow should you get 'company' ( *wink* *wink* )...

Do you have a guest room you could decorate?

This.

As a 29 year old woman, will you be entertaining potential suitors?

Many men might not take you seriously as a mature woman with a tween themed bedroom.

The colors suggestions are gorgeous. I would do that instead of a Disney mural in a master bedroom.

Alright time to fess up here :rotfl2: remember the original Figment ride and when you walked through the gift shop there was a HUGE Figment that everyone took their picture near ? Approx 5 feet tall ? Yep bought one, drove it all the way home to NY laying nose up in the back of a station wagon ( we had to take him out of the box as it wouldn't fit) He was about $ 300. and has been dragged around from one house to another over the years Now sits in the corner of our bedroom ( biggest damned dust collector ever )

For your bedroom I would duplicate that room right down to every detail if possible it's gorgeous :thumbsup2 Love the frying pan idea too, very creative thinking

I dint think that room looks particularly "childish". About the only thing I probably wouldn't do is have the Rapunzel print hanging on the wall. I'd go for something a little less evident of being a cartoon...a PP posted a few pictures of artwork that would work beautifully to give the flavor of Rapunzel without screaming CARTOON!!!

Everyone has given you great ideas so no need for me to repeat. In terms of your impending move, other than paint, pretty much everything else can be taken with you and recreated elsewhere. Comforters, lamps, wall art etc. are all packable.

That is beautiful and if you want to decorate your room that way I say go for it. :thumbsup2 It's your room.
