Siesta Key, FL hotels?

I know there are many Florida residents here on the Dis, so I'm hoping you can help. DH and I are thinking about adding a 2- or 3-night stay to an upcoming WDW vacation. However, there's not too much information regarding hotels or resorts on Siesta Key. We are looking for something right on the Gulf beach.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

We have gone many times to Longboat Key Club, just a little north of Siesta Key on the other side of St. Armands Circle. It's very nice.

I'm sure you'll get a better response from a local, we've done Siesta Key a couple of times and it's great -but rented a townhouse just off the village. I don't recall many resorts or hotels on the beach - mostly condos and private homes (alot available for rent). Tripadvisor is always a good resource too.

The problem on Siesta is that there are very few properties that will rent for less than a week. Your best bet is to look at the ones that belong to the "Superior Small Lodgings" group; they have very strict standards about membership, and I've never gone wrong yet when going through them anywhere in Coastal Florida.

I had trouble finding a place on Siesta Key that would rent just a couple nights. We ended up on Lido Key just North of Siesta Key. We stayed at Lido Beach Resort really enjoyed it. Right on the beach and close to St. Armands Circle. Here's the link to their site: www.lidobeachresort.com
