I have stayed there before I moved to the area and my family stayed there last year when they came down. Both times the experience was a pleasant one. The staff of the resort has been courteous and the rooms are nice. They are studio suites. The pool is small and sometimes got crowded. The juice and coffee were a bonus. What my sister liked most about it was having a kitchen for snacks. She didn't do any cooking, but cereal in the morning was much more cost effective than buying breakfast out.
Just got back from the Sierra suites from a stay this April. I don't know about the closeness to DD as we were using the shuttles around. Never again to Disney. Universal yes.
The continental breakfast was bagels, muffins, different types of cereal, porridge, apples, milk and juices.
