Sidekick adapter ???

OK-
I bought a set of PAIGE alphas by QK when Maggie linked me to the BIG sale a while back and they were cheap -
soooo
I decided to wait for the adapters (which it says work on the original sizzix or in the sidekick by the way)
well the adapters are basically shims made of plastic that come in a package of ten -
I THOUGHT I would need one for each letter then...
well I bought one package cuz i had someone getting me more already...
I dusted off the QK package - and I actually punched letters last night (LOVE the font by the way!)
and used the same one for each letter and it worked fine...

Is there a REASON they are sold in a package of ten - am I not suppose to use the same shim for each die for any reason??
I just don't get it

Patty, the way I underastand it you can permanetly attach them if you won't to. Also someone said something about the cost not being that much to make them ( or something like that ).
