Sidebyside vs singles vs wagon

We will be making our first trip to Disney in June 04 (so excited!)

We will have 18mth old twins and a 6yrold. We currently (since their birth) use a side by side stoller. I am wondering, would anyone take seperate single (umbrella) strollers for these two instead of one side by side? Also, 6yrold is accustomed to riding in his wagon at amusment parks, fairs, etc.. Would anyone, has anyone taken a wagon? I'm talking about your typical Radio Flyer red wagon.

Thanks

No wagons allowed--and, at least when we were there in July, they were strict about that; we saw two families with wagons being turned away.

Hopefully you'll get lots of helpful opinions on the singles vs. double stroller issue. Are you planning on splitting up a lot during your trip (letting one parent ride "big" rides with your 6-year-old, etc.)? If so, two singles might be the way to go. However, if your 6-year-old really does need to ride a lot during the day, and you end up renting a stroller for him, you'd have to rent a double and park one of the singles somewhere (unless one of you can push two strollers at a time!)

We went with an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old, neither one of whom was able to do a whole lot of park walking in the July heat and crowds, so we took a double stroller and were happy to have that. On the rare occasions when we did split up, older DS was able to walk for that long with no problems.

Sorry I'm not much help! Have a fun trip! :)

As far as I know, wagons have never been allowed in any of the WDW parks. Wagons become a safety issue because they are pulled behind.

Agreed - not that its needed but no wagons.

I think I would bring the double for the twins, esp if it can lay flat so they could sleep and they are used to it. The 6yo will probably do very well walking except for a long day or late night in which case you could always rent. Especially if the toddlers walk once in a while and your 6yo could catch a rest. This way your not stuck with "three" strollers if you decide to rent LOL. IIRC my girls started doing the parks "stroller free" at about 5-6 yo.

My sil uses a "buggy board" but only with a single stroller. Do a web search for it and check it out. If you could use this with your double you may not need a stroller for the 6yo.

Have fun

We have almost 6 year old twins and a 10 year old daughter. One of our visits the twins had just turned 2 and our daughter was 6. We brought two "cheap" umbrella strollers for the boys and our daughter walked. This worked fine for us. Our daughter has always loved the wild rides so we told her that if she wanted to ride the "big rides" (RRC, SM), then she needed to walk like a big girl. She totaly bought this and walked the entire trip. We never spent an entire day at a park. We always went back to the resort for swim breaks.

The small single strollers always worked better for us because:

1) They boys could be separated - no touching/bothering each other
2) They fit in stores better
3) They are easier to fold & carry on the busses
4) No fighting over who is in front.
5) Easier to get in and out of.
6) Easier to store

The twins last year made it without the strollers. They were almost 5. This year in Jan. they will be 6 and we are going stroller free again! YEH!!!

we just got back with a 6 year old and a baby - the 6 year old walked nearly all the time, a few late nights i put the baby in the sling and let her go in the stroller, but only 2 or 3 nights out of 14.

If your plans involve using a Disney bus, I would suggest 2 small stollers. I've seen many people struggle to get down the aisle, even with a larger single stroller.

We just got back from our trip with a 7 month old and a 3 year old. We had a double stroller - side by side.

I DO NOT recommend a double stroller at all. It was very hard meneuvering through the crowds, doorways, on and off the monorail (a double will only fit in the handicapped area and if they need the area for a wheelchair they ask you to fold your stroller (happened on many occassions and on three occassions when they were sleeping), everywhere. Forget shopping!!

My opinion would be to get two single strollers and they sell a device that you could get and put on the two strollers and lock them together to make a double side by side when needed and one person could push. You could have the flexibility of two single strollers or one double stroller. I hope this makes sense.
