Try this site, www.bettatalk.com. Keep the tank a little more shallow during his illness and make sure he has places to rest near the surface for him to breathe if he's having trouble moving around. I would try putting the tiny piece of the pea on a toothpick like the other said. I also agree with keeping the temp around 75-80, closer to 80 if he's sick if u can.
