Hello all- if I buy a ticket for an August trip, link them to bands and make FP choices- is my ticket officially activated? We have a very ill immediate family member and may want/need to postpone our trip.

I don't believe it is officially activated until the first time of use. So sorry to hear about your family member. to all!

So sorry for your family member. PP is correct. The ticket is linked for the purpose of reserving FP's. It is not activated until you enter a park.
