Wear a mask in public and get a flu shot.

I am telling you my dd had Type A with NO FEVER. Type B is the evil one that is going around.

I got the flu shot during Christmas break, so I hope I am covered. I think I would scare my kids to death if I wore a mask

Just wanted to say good luck. I worked in a large call center, so I know how it is to be surrounded by sick people. Would your manager let you move? My manager wouldn't.
It really is annoying they don't encourage people to stay home when they are that sick.

To be fair, the OP's main concern was her son who has asthma and her husband with a heart condition.

I know, but then really anywhere she goes is a hotbed for germs, not just at work.

If she's going to wear a mask at work because of the sick people there, then she'd also need to wear it to the grocery store, to the movies, or to anyplace else she goes where someone might be sick. And, to be safest, she needs to keep it on at home (or husband and son do). It doesn't seem as though she's worried about it beyond the workplace, so the mask seems to be a bit overkill. She's probably exposed to a fair amount of germs in any public place.

One thing I do, if the telephone is a shared phone, is disinfect it before I use it and then thoroughly wash my hands. Make sure you carry your own pen so that she are not picking it up there. Otherwise, try not to touch common things, elevator buttons, handrails, ect. I understand how your feel. I work retail and accept money from people. I try to keep my hands away from my face, wash my hands often, and use hand sanitizer, if I can't.
