Hello. Last minute planning. Can anybody tell me if at the Garden Grill anybody expereinced sickness due to the 'rotating restarant'?

My mom has vertigo (sp) and I just don't know if this would put her over the edge or what. Mickey looks oh so cute in his flannel, but it is not worth it if she is gonna hurl..:)

Thanks in advance!!

It moves so slowly that you can barely tell it's moving at all. I wouldn't think it would be a problem!

We ate there in July and also took my mother and father. I am pretty prone to motion sickness and my father is much worse than me, but neither of us had any problems. It is incredibly slow. It makes 1 rotation in approximately 75 minutes.

We do not have vertigo so I can't say how it affects someone with vertigo.

I was worried about this as well, but had no issues. You don't notice the movement so much if you are not staring at the same spot the whole meal. I did find our table to be a bit cramped spacewise, though. Plus, the characters weren't extra playful or overly friendly as compared to other character meals. I booked this partly because of all the great reviews about character experience. Maybe ours was just an off night. Food was good.

If you aren't paying attention to the movement, you don't know you are moving. We enjoyed the cozy booth, character interaction, & rotating scenery, but not the food. Your mileage may vary.

My DH has severe motion sickness and didn't experience any issues at GG this past April. It was our first night in the parks after the flight and I was really worried he would feel sick but he really enjoyed the meal, no problems at all!

I don't normally get motion sickness, but it did take me awhile to adjust to the room spinning. It just felt strange. We were seated on the upper level - so not sure that made a difference. We were a party of 8 and nobody got truly sick, but it did take time for me to get used to it.

We loved the character interaction - and would gladly dine there again!

My dad has vertigo and gets motion sickness very easily - he has been to Garden Grill many, many times with us and has never had any problems. He will be with us at Garden Grill a week from today, so I'll ask him for a fresh report next week!

I also get vertigo and have very bad motion sickness. But our meal at the Garden Grill at the Land was very pleasant. I had to problems.

Your mother should be fine unless she is supernaturally sensitive. My DW likes to say that she can get dizzy turning a corner, and she has never had a problem. I am not particularly sensitive to motion sickness, and honestly, I can barely even tell that we're rotating. It's very slow and gentle, in my opinion.

Good luck!

I get very bad vertigo and have never been bothered by the movement at Garden Grill but have noticed a decline in the food quality.

My husband and I had the complete opposite experience. The food was terrible but the characters (especially Dale) were outstanding! Dale had us laughing until our sides hurt while "telling" us that Chip apparently does not believe in personal hygiene.

it won't be the rotating that causes sickness here :lmao:

i know some love it, but if we wanted stouffer's, we'd get a few boxes and eat at the villa.

My MIL gets motion sick a lot (can't even do 3D shows) and she was okay with Garden Grill. It moves very slowly so she should be okay.

Thank you for all the replies!! :) We are still up in there over this one! We will see... :)

I get motion sickness from spinning, and it took me a few minutes to acclimate to the rotation of the Garden Grill. We were sitting in a booth on the lower level. After a few minutes I was fine though! It also might have had to do with the fact that we hadn't eaten all day!
