Boy - Im falling apart over here. On the heels of my migraine yesterday, I think Im getting sick today. Tickle in my chest... feeling achy...

Has anyone ever gone to their doc in the early flu-stages and got that Tamiflu stuff? Does it work?

Ive got packing to do this weekend - I REALLY dont need this. :sad1:

My son once was so sick I thought he was dying and I took him to the Dr--come to find out they tested him for the flu as well as strep throat and he was positive for BOTH. How that kid did that, I'll never know, but he was put on Tamiflu and an antibiotic. By the next morning, he was up running around. I swear, if I ever get the flu, I am on the stuff as soon as possible. BTW, my insurance wouldn't cover it for him.
Hope you feel better soon; call for an appointment ASAP b/c it only works in the earliest stages of the flu.

It might be worth calling the dr.

I'm getting sick, too, but think it's a cold. Seems we get through one round of colds in my family and then we start all over again. Not good! I have packing to do, a house to clean up...

Thanks for the info!

I have a walk-in place right near my house, open until 8.30, and Im thinking about stopping in. I just dont feel like being sick right now (like anyone ever does, though - huh??? ;) )

How much did that prescription run, if it wasnt covered?? Should I sit down?? :scared: :faint:

What about those "Airborne" pills, or Cold-Eeeeze? What works?!?!?

I've had really good luck with Airborne. I take it as soon as I start feeling like I'm coming down with something. I also take it several times a day if I do get a full blown cold. Seems to shorten the length of time I end up being sick.

I've been taking Airborne when I get a cold and also taking zinc tablets. But that's for a cold--don't think it would work on the flu and the Tamiflu wouldn't help a cold. I have some Zicam for my WDW trip since I always seem to get sick there.

I think it was $75. But that was a pediatric dose and at the time, there wasn't any around so I had to run all over town to find it. The Dr. will test you for the flu and only give you an RX if it's positive. Unless you can talk him into giving you an RX, just in case...
Are you running a temp?
