sick and tired of reading bad things

No, not at all. Not personal attacks in the least. Merely repeating what people have said.

You don't consider the following a personal attack at all?

Some people know as much about yield management as they do about patents and using Disney's financial reports on resort occupancy to come to biased, flawed conclusions.

And for people who say "they dont have a dog in the fight" and "they are DONE with Disney", they sure do expend a lot of time and energy in repeating themselves on most FP+ threads. Seems like a lot of time spent on something they claim otherwise.

I can kind of sympathize with the OP. Sometimes you start reading a thread about how someone liked FP+ and you get to page two and it goes downhill fast. Or threads that have nothing to do with FP+ get hijacked and no longer discuss the original topic.

:thumbsup2

You mean kind of like this one???

I will grant you that the OP had some good suggestions but again how does recommend how the FP+ system specifically relate to its current and future use as presently implemented by Disney?

Wouldnt that be a better fit in another area of the board?

I can see how suggestions to improve the means used to gain access to "Theme Park Attractions" would be an appropriate topic on a board titled "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies".

and who would it be a personal attack against?

i didnt personally attack anyone with accusations but I merely commented on the content of their postings in the past.

How is discussing FP+ inappropriate for a theme park strategies board but discussing favourite rides, when EMH started, ear hats or convincing ones husband to go are all relevant topics? I saw all those scrolling down the first page.

P.S. Not meaning to offend the creators of those threads, I think they all belong, along with FP+ discussion.

Again, how so? How does this help a new user with using the current FP+ system? Do you not see how that could possibly lead to confusion?

Should all lobbying to change Disney's systems be on the TAPs board as well?

Where is the relevancy?

And again, that's what the report button is for..drawing a mods attention to it.

Wouldn't that, or pming a mod about it, be.more constructive than complaining about to people who
A. Didn't create the thread in the first place
B. Do not have the ability to move it to another forum
?

Probably no more helpful than what color MB to choose or whether or not it's a good idea for a 5 year old to ride space mountain, but that isn't the (strawman) point. As far as I know, there aren't any rules that prohibit the discussion of FP+ unless it is specifically deemed to be helpful to a new user.

that is beside the point. Earlier in this thread people were discussing why they thought all FP+ related threads belonged in the TAPs forum.

Now, we have a thread that was recently started and I was curious to people's reasoning why they think it belongs there. I fully agree the mods will move it if they see fit.

But how is a discussion on FP enhancements helpful and relevant?

Does anyone truly believe that these types of "enhancements" havent already been analyzed by the powers that be within Disney?

These proposed enhancements have already been discussed in different forums in the multiple threads of FP+ since the first FP+ rumors started.

Agreed but I am asking about how people think this particular thread is relevant or applicable to Disney Trip planning or Theme Parks strategies.

There are rules that say that threads should be on topic:

Each of the DIS boards focuses on a specific topic. Please look the choices over before posting on the wrong board. For instance, you don't want to ask about park hours on the Restaurants Board or tell everyone about your stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort on the Disney Cruise Line Board. It makes it easier for everyone to find what they're looking for when the boards stay on topic.

Isnt this a better discussion for the Community Board for example?

Maybe. Maybe not. For years, the TPA&S board has been the most popular "destination" and has served as a sort of "catch all" for topics. Often, things do get moved to the "community" board, but not always. Those of us who have been around for a while have gotten accustomed to this and don't take a hard-line stance or call out posters for using that board to ask questions that might be better asked on a different forum.

In my experience, when newbies are "attacked" it's generally because they choose a hot button issue to address for their first post and more often than not, they "introduce" themselves by being rude and inflammatory. Present company excepted, of course. ;)

How is a thread about enhancing FP+ less relevant than a thread about convincing someone's husband to go to Disney or a thread about when EMH first started in the parks? If you agree it's not less relevant, why are you not posting on all those threads chastising the OP's for posting irrelevant things that could confuse those poor first timers?

How is it helpful to a first timer to know when EMH started? How is it helpful to a first timer to know how to convince someone's husband to go to Disney? How is this thread helpful to first timers? I didn't see you getting on the OP's case before it was moved.

Again, no offence intended to the posters who started those threads. Just trying to illustrate a point.

How is it not?

I'm sure Disney has analyzed it to death. And then analyzed it some more. An they probably aren't finished. It would be foolish to think they aren't also collecting feedback from a variety of sources.

These proposed enhancements have already been discussed in different forums in the multiple threads of FP+ since the first FP+ rumors started.

So? At what point is a discussion declared "over" and by who?

He's new here. Remember he just joined last night. He probably didn't know any of that.

And now we are on the next subject in this thread. Talking about going way off topic. Can I start the next subject? Mine will be "what row on the big thunder mountain railroad rollercoaster should I sit in to get the best experience?"

I agree but all those other topics werent what was being discussed early in this thread. In this thread people were saying why there should not be a separate sub forum for FP+ discussions and how they should remain on the TAPs board.

Therefore, when this latest post on FP+ enhancement popped up, I used as an example of what was being discussed

The back row, of course. That way, you don't pause at the top of the lift hill.

Actually, I was all in favor of the FP threads getting their own sub-forum and even advocated for a locked sticky updated only by a Mod that tracks the current state of FP+. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't also discuss the possible future state of FP+.

And I think several have offered a response in regards to how it could be relevant to "Theme Park Attractions".

For some reason the thought just occurred to me that this discussion would be much more enjoyable with a cigar and martini......

How sir, do you feel about the effects of snow on the tundra?

Discuss :)
