This could be interesting...

Has anyone ever been sick  and couldn't get off a ride??

I had the worst stomach pains and desperately needed to get off the ride... And to make it worse... I was on IT'S A SMALL WORLD! I wanted to die!!! It was the worst 10 minutes of torture in my life!! :teeth:

It was Spaceship Earth for me ! I was 8 weeks pregnant and didn't think I was going to make it off that ride. I now know where every single emergency exit is from searching for them from the ride - just in case I had to ditch it !! Fortunately I made it off but had wicked butterflies in my stomach when I went back on it years later ! I still know where all those emerency doors still are though !! :thumbsup2

omg!!! I feel for anyone in that position...I love rides (like roller coaster) but can't go on anything that has what I call "fake moving" or commonly known as "simulator" rides without feeling really woozy after, but I did find this motion sickness band that looks like a watch (you can even regulate it), Relief Band - I am looking forward to using it in 2007.

years and years ago- i was on body wars......all i kept thinking was-- ok i can throw up in my handbag if it gets too bad!!! :rotfl2:

i closed my eyes but that didnt help.....but i made it.

I just read on another thread about using ginger...seems to work very well...and alot less money than my Relief Band.

i will definately need something for our next trip in sept-- cuz i am riding EE!!!

i get dizzy just turning my head! :rotfl:
my husband get dizzy getting off of an exit ramp--- i swear! :lmao:

We haven't felt bad on rides but have seen others that look way under the weather. If I felt too bad,I would be back in a room under covers.

Did Mission Space once. Made it through but was woozy for about half an hour afterwards. Never again, I say.

Any recorded instances of someone heaving overboard during a ride (Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain)? I do recall an incident mentioned here when someone on Space Mountain was hit by an object someone in a different car dropped.

"You don't pull Superman's cape.
You don't spit into the wind [e.g. Space Mountain]
You don't pull down the mask of the old Lone Ranger
and you don't mess around with Jim"

I have felt ill on a couple of rides, Star Tours one year, although I have ridden it many times I think it was just 1 ride too much one day.

And Back To The Future - at Universal.

Not on a ride but on a Disney bus when we were staying at POFQ. We always went there first for pick up and drop off. We were coming home from Epcot at closing, VERY full bus. I had the baby on my lap out like a light. I had some major stomach issues come up... I was in so much pain I was sweating all over the seat. So imagine my surprise when we bypassed POFQ and headed to POR. And followed by all the stops at POR. The bus was packed, I had ds on my lap sleeping.... the girls were on another chair back more in the bus and dh was at the very front of the bus standing. There was no way I could just get off the bus at the main POR stop or anything. So I had to suffer and boy did I suffer! I flew off that bus when we got to the POFQ stop and threw the baby at dh and ran to the room... yikes. Hey, you asked, lol!

My family was on It's a Small World and the boat was packed. We were having fun and then all of a sudden there was this AWFUL smell. Turns out a boy about 7yo had diarreah (sp?) in his pants. Everyone on the boat was gagging. I thought everyone on the boat was gonna puke. I dont know what this kid ate before coming on but it was the worst smell imaginable. The mother had to pick her son up after the ride and carry him all the way to the restroom.

That is one SMELLY ride I will never forget. :rotfl2:

I felt so bad on MS, I was just about to reach for the "bag"! If that thing would have spun one more time, I don't think I would have made it!

Now, my DH went on the rollercoaster in Las Vegas at New York. I could tell almost as soon as it started that my DH's stomach wasn't up for this. I spent the whole time watching him and praying that he wouldn't throw up on me, since we were pretty far from our hotel. The coaster ended and my Dh ran for a garbage can. He had actually been holding it in his mouth! YUCK!

This is my biggest fear. I love rides, but as I've gotten older for some reason my head and stomach do not enjoy some of them. In particular the simulators and anything that spins. I really want to try EE, but it goes backwards and I don't know how well that's going to work. I have tried Bonine (which is what I use for airplanes) in the parks but it doesn't work 100%. It just doesn't make me feel as sick. I really would like to find something that would allow me to ride without worry.

Wow, I'm sure you get this all the time, but you look like you could be Amy Fisher's twin!

Yeah, it's either that or the bride from American Wedding. Neither of which I completely agree with. :confused3

I actually worry myself into feeling sick thinking about getting stuck on a ride and not being able to get off, while being sick. Also on the monorail and the buses...can you see a patern? :rotfl:

It's posted on the"Have you ever had a Shock" board. One year when DH and I took a group of kids to Night of Joy one of the girls wasn't feeling well. She left a little present in the waters of POTC. :crazy2: I kept trying to get her to just lay down in the first aid and rest, but she didn't want to. She also left something in a trash can in Tomorrowland. All I could think was,"I hope that's not the talking trash can." :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ME TOO!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

How about that Ellen ride at Epcot??? It is 45 minutes long and they tell you before it starts that there is no escape!!! I enjoy the ride, but that is enough to panic me and get me feeling claustrophobic. I have been on it soooo many times, but the no exit business gets me going!

So, has anybody actually exited Ellen when you're in those huge "cars"?? It would make me feel better to know it IS possible!
