Boy are my 2 DD's SO different from one another I was putting away their clothes this morning and in my 5 yr old's room it was perfectly clean, all the toys were put away, everything in it's proper place and her bed was made (she makes her bed EVERY morning as soon as she wakes up and we've never told her to, heck I don't even make MY bed every morning LOL). I walk into my 9 yr old's room and it looks like a disaster area, clothes all over the place, books piled up, bed sheets thrown every which way..it looked like it needed FEMA and not MOM!
It got me thinking about how different they really are, my 5 yo thrives on routine, making the bed, comes home from school puts her lunchbox in the exact same spot, takes her hat, gloves and scarf and puts it in the winterwear basket, puts her dirty laundry in the appropriate sections of the divided laundry basket thingy (lol)..she does this all on her own and it works best for her; however she struggles with "book knowledge" things with school. She is very creative and does well with coloring and simple things but often needs help with writing, spelling etc (she's only in Kindergarten, so it's not a huge concern) Meanwhile, my 9 yr old is like a mad scientist! She is SO book smart, she reads for hours on end, is 2 grades ahead in math, science and reading but she is a total MESS! Never puts her clothes away, forgets where she leaves things, sometimes forgets her lunch in the morning..if her head wasn't attatched she would likely forget that too!
It makes them unique but it just makes me giggle looking at them going through their respective "routines" and seeing how different they are!!
