Why is it my sons can go to a Magic card tournament, spend 3 hours playing politely, by the rules, and accepting their losses gracefully, but as soon as they get home and play with one another, it degenerates into a shouting match?

Funny, I don't remember posting a "Check your manners at the door" sign outside of my house....

Mine are the same way......when DS was small, he could play games for hours, (both with us, grandma, or his friends, etc.) But when DD came along, if she wasn't winning, she would throw the markers, overturn the board, etc. It just broke DS's heart that his little sister wouldn't play the games he loved to play. SHe just had a shorter attention span (wouldn't sit to have a story read, either. DS would sit for hours and read.......he was reading at 3 1/2, and DD didn't catch on until about 6. That caused many hard feelings, since she always wanted to do what her brother did, and being 2 yrs younger, sometimes just wasn't possible)
