Shuttles from LAX to Disneyland

My husband and I are heading out to DL in 16 days (yay, can't wait!!!) and we are wondering about shuttle service from LAX to the Grand Californian. Last trip there (2001) we rented a car since we would be there for over a week and wanted to go to Burbank, Hollywood, etc. This time we will only be there for a few days and don't really have a need for a rental car.

We aren't sure about reliable shuttle service from LAX, though. WDW has a "deal" with Mears, so at least you know that you are getting clean, reliable transportation, but I can't find anything on shuttles to DL resorts.

We are flying into LAX because the flights were much, much cheaper than flying into John Wayne, even though John Wayne is closer. I imagine that a taxi ride will be incredibly expensive, probably costing us for a round trip about the same as the car would for five days.

LAX has some listings on their website, but I would rather find out from real people about their experiences instead of guessing at which shuttle service would be good to get us to and from DL.

Can anyone recommend a good shuttle service? We have a car reserved for now, but would rather not pay the cost for rental and parking for a car that will just sit there for a few days. Either a van or car service would be fine. Any recommendations (or warnings about bad services!) would be welcome.

Thanks!
Catherine

Here's another post on this same topic:

I've used Supershuttle several times. Generally I've been pretty pleased, although once it had a drop off at a private residence which took us out of the way a bit. Most often it will have just a few stops at hotels/inns right around DL. I've also taken the Airporter bus (now called the Disneyland Express I think). It seemed to take much longer than the shuttle, and there can be a much longer wait to catch it unless you time things just right. Once I had a bus that had an overhead window that was broken and we froze the entire way. I try to avoid the bus now. Express Shuttle, I believe, is another well used shuttle service. When there's only 2 in your party, the shuttle is probably the best way to go. Some of the car rentals are pretty darn cheap, so sometimes it can be just about as cheap to rent a car, especially if there are more than 2 in your party. Parking at GCH is included in your resort fee.

Thank you, CalGal, for your reply.

I'll check into SuperShuttle and ExpressShuttle.

The parking is not included at GCH for us because we are DVC members using points for our reservation. We did this during our last trip as well and it was about $20 per day for self parking. It is just an unnecessary expense if we can find other reliable transportation.
