Shuttle Launch

What an incredible photo! I've always wanted to see a shuttle launch but with only 3 flights left and no trips planned I'll have to wait for whatever replacement NASA develops.

I hope those that will be there when it is scheduled to launch will be able to see it on the 24th.

... we've actually missed a few launches that coincided with our trips because NASA either moved them back a few days or ahead a few. This trip we weren't even watching ahead of time to see if there were any launches. We arrived in Orlando the night before and when we got to our resort room, we turned on the TV to catch the weather forecast for the next day and the news was reporting that the shuttle launch was still a go for the next day. We both looked at each other, said screw Disney and decided to head out to see the launch. We figured if they scrubbed the launch, we'd still have a nice day trip to the coast ... but luck was on our side this time and we finally got to see one

It truly is amazing ... first you hear the rumbling of the launch, then you see the shuttle, then about 15-20 seconds later, you feel it ...
