shuttle launch~will i be able to see it?

there is a scheduled shuttle launch on july 12th! the problem is that it is at 4:45 AM! i dont want to drag the kids out at that hour since they are so young. my question is will i be able to see it from the hotel (magic castle inn) parking lot? and if so in what direction should i be looking? thank you!

Yes, you will be able to see the shuttle take off from your parking lot. Obviously you won't be able to see if until it is "fairly" high in the sky, but the smoke/vapor trail is definitely VERY visible. The space center is EAST of Orlando.

If it's warm weather you might consider dragging the young ones out. We did it with our DD when she was younger and it worked out fine because everyone brought blankets and spread them out on the ground. Then everyone slept until it got close to launch time. It worked out great.
