Shuttle launch date changed

sorry guys but I dont think you should get your hopes up! the 18th is the absolute earliest they can get it launched now - and thats assuming endeavour does launch on its scheduled date and that there are absolutely no hitches (which is very rare!) for discovery.

I know that but a girl can hope! We'll be in FL until 27th aug so as long as it's before then I'm happy.

I am keeping EVERYTHING crossed!

We have booked a hotel near KSC for the night which can be cancelled anytime up to 2 days before without losing any money. On the 17th we will be at Discovery Cove, so all we have to do now is find a way to get from one to the other without it costing a fortune!

the way its going at the moment I think you're more likely to see endeavour launch than discovery! which I guess would be fine! :)

Where would the best place be to watch the launch without travelling to far from disney, Is it possible you could see something from your disney hotel.
cheers dave

I would take any launch. I don't mind.

Depending on weather it is possible to see for central Florida but its a non-event, you are about 60 miles away, so not the best view. Going to the coast is an amazing experience, crowds, countdown, cheering, clapping, I would cancel anything in Florida to be at another launch.

That would be better! I've already seen Discovery launch!! :lmao:

When I complained to DH that the August launch was Discovery and that I wanted to see a different shuttle, he was :rotfl2: and pointed out that at the distance we see them they all look the same anyway!

Hi there,

I have never been to watch a launch but due to luck we will be at cocoa beach on the 11th on Jul. I have seen that various places are availble to view the lauch although can I buy entry tickets at KSC to gain entry to the park and view the launch. Any advice greatfully received.

Thanks for that, will try and be there, is it easy to park?

We got there about 2 hours to launch, we drove up and down a few mins and then right near Space view park they opened a field, was really easy.

Lets see if this link works

Space view park is the little park next to E Broad St. We parked in the field north of Orange st, you can see a #82 and a few cars in there. Couldn't get much closer, 1-2 min walk.

Edit, looks like you might have to drag to pic across slightly
