We're hoping to do 2 days at US/IofA during a 12 day Disney stay. We will be staying onsite at WDW (Grand Floridian) and don't plan on renting a vehicle. I have heard that Mears runs a shuttle between Disney and US, but I can't find the info on their website. Can anyone provide any info about this? Earliest time of pick-up, number of stops, length of travel time and all that other good stuff. Is Mears the only option, or are there other recommendations? Thanks in advance!

There isn't a scheduled shuttle between Disney and Universal. I see what you mean about the website. There is no option except the airport to a destination with taxi or shuttle service. You'd better call to see if shuttle reservations can still be made w/o having to deal with the airport.

Hello

We did the opposite and were staying near Universal and wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom. I called Mears and they had shuttles that ran throughout the day.

you need to call them to set up a date and time to be picked up at your hotel and dropped off at the park. They have quite a number of return times and what we did was call them 2 hours prior to wanting to leave the park.

We had a 10pm pick up time and had no issues at all with them. They ran ontime both ways. For us it was $19.00 a piece and that included both pick up and return.

We usually use Mears to get from WDW to Universal and have never had a problem. You can either stop off at the Mears desk (right before you get to the DME pick up area), when you first arrive in Orlando and buy travel vouchers ($19.00 round trip). The vouchers can be used anytime. Just call the day before to arrange a pick up time. The number is 407-423-5566 (the number is also on the voucher). If you get the voucher at the airport, you can pay either with a credit card or cash. If you don't want to get a voucher at the airport, just call Mears the day before you want to go to Universal and arrange a pick up time. The times are like 7:20am, 8:20am, 9:20am, etc. We always take the earliest and are always there well before park opening. If you don't have a voucher, you will have to give the driver exact cash. (Note the $19.00 r/t does not include gratuity). If you have a voucher the driver will tear off a 1/3 of it and give you the other 2/3's. When you get on the van to go back to WDW, you give the voucher to that driver and he will tear off another 1/3 and give you the last 1/3 for your receipt. The van may make a stop or two. It just depends on how many are getting on at your resort. I think the van holds like maybe ten people. When you are ready to go back to WDW, just give Mears a call about two hours before you are ready to depart to arrange a pick up time.
