We are spending a few days at WDW, staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, before our cruise next year. I've been reading that the shuttles do not arrive at the port until between 12:30-2. Since we are sailing concierge so we can basically board at anytime. I'm trying to decide if it pays to take the shuttle and have the convenience of them handling your luggage but with the potential of getting to the port at 2pm, or just taking a private car to the port, dealing with luggage on our own but getting onboard sooner. Our rooms would be ready early since we are concierge. Which option do you think is better?

Dealing with luggage is super easy - don't let that deter you. You can just hand it off at the gate to the port before you go through security. I would absolutely take a car because the concierge lounge gets crowded later in the day, it's best (IMO) to go directly there when you board and set up all your stuff. Your room night not be ready but you can leave your carry on bags in the concierge lounge and go up to lunch.

I would also take a car service....or you could get back to MCO and take the DCL bus from there. Those buses start leaving for the port about 9:15 getting you to the port MUCH earlier. We had a rental car at WDW that we dropped off at MCO the morning of the cruise and took the DCL bus to the port from MCO.

I would go with a car service too, we've used HappyLimo numerous times and they've been fantastic. They'll also stop at a grocery store on the way if you need to pick up anything for the cruise. Enjoy your trip.

We love Happy Limo - especially for the ability to make a last minute stop for a few cases of water, sunscreen and anything else we've run out of!
