Shuttle from Hyatt Regency to DLR?

Hi there!

My husband and I are planning a trip for Christmas week (flying home 12/23). We've been to DLR a couple of times with the kids, and this time it's just us. We've stayed at PPH and Tropicana, and both are great location-wise, but we want a nicer hotel without the price tag of a Disney property. We will be flying in and won't rent a car.

My question is about the shuttle to the Hyatt Regency. Any thoughts? Most reviews say it's fine and efficient. Since it's just the two of us, and it's more of a trip to relax and enjoy the ambiance of DLR at Christmas, we can be patient if needed, as I know that week is crowded. I just want to know if there's something I need to know about the shuttle that the TripAdvisor reviews don't say.

Other thoughts on the Hyatt Regency?

Thanks in advance!

We have stayed here twice and will be staying here again. The hotel is very nice but can be a bit noisy in the evenings if you have a room that overlooks the lobby. We enjoy staying here and recommend it to our friends. As for the shuttle, we use it. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes to the park and every 30 minutes back to the hotel. While waiting, you can get a starbucks from the hotel lobby. We have never had any issues with the shuttle being late.

Nice hotel and the shuttle runs regularly but it will be packed in the morning (like most hotels) and people who show up at the last minute will have to wait another 30 minutes for the next one. Looong walk from the parking lot to your room. Starbucks in the lobby is a nice touch but if you have room that faces the lobby it can be loud. TV in the room did not digital signal, nor did most of the hotel for that matter. We spent our days at DL so it was not an issue but I like to watch a little tv in the morning before we go and watching an old school analog signal was painful. We stayed there about a year and a half ago so some of the things might have changed since then.

We stayed at the Hyatt this past December. I liked it fine, but the shuttle system reminded me why I dislike the shuttle system! If you are organized and have a high tolerance for other people's nonsense, then it's all good. But as a flake, I would get ready in the AM to find that I just missed the shuttle. In the evenings, waiting for the shuttle late at night got old quick... and that's when other people's foolishness was most likely to occur! We went ahead and took a cab back our last night despite having our shuttle tickets because I didn't want to deal with the shuttle anymore. Also, I enjoyed our lobby room view, but we were on a higher floor, so we did not have the noise issue other folks have mentioned. I was expecting the worst in terms of crowds for Christmas week, but was very pleasantly surprised.
