Shuttle Express - Extra Baggage Charge?

I called this morning to make my reservations for Shuttle Express to pick us (Me, DH & DS3 & DD1) up at the airport.

The person at Shuttle Express asked how many bags we would have....I said maybe 4 (not sure yet since I haven't packed yet) and 2 carseats and 2 strollers. I confirmed with her that the carseats would be okay INSIDE the van and that DH would buckle them in (so carseats would not be stored with the luggage).

The gal I was speaking to advise me to bring some extra money (we have vouchers from Costco) in case the driver charges us extra for such a large amount of "bags". Is this normal? I tried calling Costco travel but was on hold forever so I will call them back later. I honestly don't understand why 1 suitcase per person + 2 umbrella strollers would warrant us having to pay a bunch of extra money.

I am a bit skeptical because I have heard of people being ripped off before with things like this so what have you all experienced?

P.S. The LAST thing I want is a hassle getting from the airport to our hotel so if we have to pay then fine but just want to make sure this is legitimate.

Maybe its the strollers - and that you have two. With strollers and car seats - this could limit the number of additional passengers for that trip and thus decrease income for the shuttle - so thus the extra charge. But then I don't travel with these things so I am only guessing.
