What a sad, sad event! I recall when the Challenger blew up over 20 years ago. Columbia disintegrated in the upper atmosphere this morning as it entered Earth.
I get sad and angry whenever a space mission fails, because we owe so much to space research. Lasers, pacemakers, ultrasound technology, basically every instrument in the ER that saves a life and even microwaves and pens writing upside down.. We owe it all to space research.
