We are looking at taking the Disneyland Express coach bus from LAX to our hotel in Anaheim (Park Vue Inn).
We are family of 4, 2 Adults & 10 yrs and 6 yrs

For those that have taken it, I have a few questions:

1. Can't find a webpage where I can reserve. Do I need reservations?

2. Anybody used the printable coupon for $3 off roundtrip.....any problems?

3. Is it really faster than booking PrimeTime or Supershuttle? Primetime gave me a pickup time of 12:20 and estimated dropoff of 2pm....1.5 hrs...seems a bit long when you have 2 kids along.

thanks a bunch!

We have used the DL Resort Express twice, including last week. While we have had reservations in the past, my dad and his wife did not and they had no problems getting on and paying. Now, if you are going in a peak season, you might want to have reservations.
I have no clue if it is faster than super shuttle but my dad used this shuttle to get to the hotel and they had to stop at people's homes on the way to the hotel. I could see that taking a while..........

From LAX that is about the right amount of time. Its about an hour if you drive in a car. With the bus or the shuttle you are going to have to drop off people at other places. According to the express bus schedule its going to take you 1 hr 20 min to get back to the airport from the hotel. It should be about the same going the other way. The bus is large and holds a LOT of people! We like super shuttle. Others feel the bus is more comfortable for that long of a drive.

We couldn't find where to make ressies either, so just went out to the curb. It was just about right on time - 10 minutes later because of our concourse. We used the coupon (no problem) - they take you to the DL Hotel to pay and then take you to your hotel. With the coupon you are purchasing RT tickets. You need to call them to make return arrangements - I believe at least 1 day ahead.

I've taken it in Sept. I used the printable coupon no problem. We stayed at Park Vue Inn as well. The drop off is across from the drive way, on the opposite side of IHOP, kind of a ways down, curb side at the public bus stop. Drop off wasn't that bad, but departing was another story. Bus didn't come when they said, we waited with homeless and such at the bus stop, it was actually kind of scary IMO. (I have children as well)

I would just take Primetime or Supershuttle where you can sit in your hotel lobby in air conditioning and wait for them to drive up and pick you up. Less headache IMO.

As for the time frame they gave you, I think it's worse case scenario, traffic, etc....

Thanks for all the replies!
I think we may just book Supershuttle or Prime Time. I think those 2 companies are about the same.....at least the price is the same.
$60 for the 4 of us.
The DL Bus would be $70
Another consideration is that we may bring a booster seat for my son as he is right on the edge of not needing one, but we are renting a car and feel he is safer being in one especially when we will be driving in a lot of traffic there.
I hope Supershuttle or PrimeTime let you use your booster that uses car seatbelts......anybody have experience with that?? Maybe there are only lap belts in the vans.

Supershuttles have normal seatbelts for everyone. I know that I have also seen coupons for Supershuttle online, but for the life of me cannot remember where now. Before when I have used them I paid for it online -included the tip in it, and when I was dropped off they driver still wanted a tip. I told him I had already included it. You may want to keep that in mind.

What do you mean by "normal?" Shoulder/lap belts or just lap belts?

Our booster requires a shoulder/lap seatbelt.

Thanks.

I took the Disneyland Express for my trip and I'll tell you a bit about my experience with it.

The whole standing under the green sign at LAX thing was confusing, but thats what you do. Stand under the green sign area in the middle of traffic.

I waited for maybe 20 minutes because I got there just as it left.

The first trip was on a Friday and it took an hour and a half. My second trip on a Sunday took an easy 45 minutes and picked me up right outside of my hotel after I made a reservation back.

Thats the only reservation you make is the 24 hours in advance to be picked up.

There weren't any seat belts and I didn't have a problem using the 3 dollar coupon. It was 28 dollars so I handed them the coupon and 25 in cash and they gave me a card that I handed to my driver on my trip back to show I payed, so don't lose it.

All in all I was pretty happy with it.

Well, I made our decision and booked Supershuttle.
I found a website with a link to coupons for $2 off pp, so the total for the 4 of us was just $52 :thumbsup2
We can bring my son's booster seat so it works out for us.
If anybody is booking through the summer, you can use the coupon code of
Z4M3D and get the Anaheim Visitors centre discount.

So let me get this straight. The DL express goes only to DLH. The supershuttle will stop at other hotels?

Do you have the e-mail for supershuttle?

Thanks.

I have done Super Shuttle in the past and have decided on the DL Express this time around. In my opinion, Super Shuttle is downright scary. Or as my mom puts it, it is just a thrill ride before we get to the park! :scared1: I would like to spend one trip where I am not praying for my life all the way to my hotel and back to the airport, especially with all the craziness associated with LAX.

Anyways, that is my two cents! If you want speedy, then Super Shuttle should be right on target! "Hang onto your hats and glasses cuz this here is the wildest ride in... LA!!!" :lmao:

No, Disneyland Express goes to other hotels too. On their website, there is a brochure that tells which ones.

Okay, $40 for 4 of us from SNA (John Wayne Airport). Hate to be the asker of this question...do we load our own suitcases into the van? If so, why in the world would I tip the driver? :rolleyes1

Someone mentioned that thier child was on the cusp of needing a booster... what is the law in CA? My two do not legally need one in Texas... but I would hate to be unprepaired when we get to CA... we are flying into John Wayne and we will NOT be renting a car... just staying at the resort for four fun-filled nights :cool1:

TIA for your help!

On one of the shuttle websites...can't remember where....but anyway I read that under 6 yrs needs a booster. If you don't provide "the operator at their discretion, may refuse boarding".
We're renting a car there too, so we're bringing the seat.

Maybe someone who lives there could provide you with more specific details if you need them or are concerned.
