I plan on pre purchasing the all digital print package. I have heard mixed reviews of pictures being missing when the USB was checked. I have no desire or plan to take a laptop with me - is there going to be any way for me to check the USB and make sure my pics are on it before I get home? Or do I need to schlep along a laptop for this sole purpose? Thanks!

You should be able to check them at the digital Shutters kiosks. There is an area right next to Shutters on the Fantasy. There were also kiosks outside of The Enchanted Garden. I purchased the actual print package. It was really easy to check my prints every day to ensure that I got all of them. From time to time some would be missing (lobby photos, aqueduct, etc). I could then find them using the digital kiosks and add them to my package.

Wow, thanks for the info!
On the Magic/Wonder you need to look in the Hallwhere shutters is located, they don't have a enchanted garden on those ships. Also check every night and give your KTTW card to each camera person. Some people take a backup photo with their phone to help find lost photos. That's what I'll be doing.

Do the kiosks have USB ports also so once I get my USB I can validate all pictures are on there? I've heard there have been issues of all
Pictures not making it onto the usb itself

The kiosks do not have USB ports. You will however be able to see all photos which should go into your portfolio. If you check it often, you have a better chance of noticing a missing photo. The software has some pretty good search features and it is not hard to find missing photos and have them added to your portfolio.

So are we saying that you can get them on a USB drive in stead of the disks that they have been using for years?

We just got off the Wonder last week, and were give the same discs that they've used in the past. We were also diligent about checking our photos up till the last day of the cruise (Castaway Day), and wouldn't you know it, 4 shots from that day didn't make it! Same photographer for all 4, so guessing something happened. However, customer support has been super helpful so far, and they are working with the ship to try and find those photos :) If a photo is missing, just remember, all is not lost! Just check as soon as you get home, and contact support - they don't delete all the photos as soon as you disembark, so there's time :)

We sailed on the Dream over spring break and I received a USB of my all digital package, rather than a disc. So maybe it varies by ship? I thought I was very diligent checking photos everyday, but once we got home my teenagers said, "you know we posed with Minnie on Castaway (I wasn't with them at the time) and those photos are here." I didn't know to double check for those photos. Next time I'm going to ask my kids every evening at dinner if they had any pictures taken.

Perhaps it's the newer ships? Or maybe the Wonder will get the upgrade when she goes into drydock this fall? Would definitely prefer the USB to the CD - could have pulled the tablet out and checked the drive while we were still on the ship! :)

The Magic gave us a CD 2 weeks ago.

I think you also need to download software to be able to see them. So, just having a laptop etc to check them isn't enough, you also need Internet access as far as I'm aware.

You do, unless you have the software preloaded from a prior disc ;)

If you're missing photos at the end of the cruise, you can still get them. Just email the folks at My Cruise Photos and they can find it for you. My DD and I had a photo taken together in the water at CC. After the cruise, it wasn't on our CD and I emailed them. I described about the approximate time of day and what my swim suit and DD's suit looked like. I said that I had dark hair and a visor, and DD had blond hair, etc. They found my photo and emailed me a copy.

I want to add to this...my Shutters portfolio had most of my pictures. I would say 5% were missing, so I located them and added them. On the last day, I went to Shutters and got my CDs and loaded them up on my laptop...Maybe 25% of the pictures were on the two CDs, so I went back to Shutters and they reburned my CD. So...just because it is in your portfolio does not mean that it will be on your disk. Most reports are of people that have missing pictures on the CD and not the portfolio.

Yes, you need the software loaded on your computer. I had leftover internet package, so we used it the last day to access our files. :)

Oh, and there is a "lost photo" screen outside of shutters. It is where all the photos that facial recognition did not capture a person go. A few times we assumed that a certain picture just "didnt turn out", so that was why it wasnt in our folio because 3 out of 4 were there...well, when they directed me to the lost photo computer screens, I found about 40 or 50 pictures of our family that were just "lost". I started telling other people on board and they too, had a lot of "lost pictures". I have no idea why they scan the KTTW cards...they don't use them to put pictures in the correct file.
