Shutters Pictures/CD

Using the above grandma grandpa theory.

We are booking two rooms myself wife and two grandkids in room 1 and two daughters and two son in laws in room 2. If we were to mix the occupants on the two room say(daughters in room 1 son in laws room 2) then we could get by with one cd package as long as we made sure someone from room 1 is always in the picture, right?

When your arrive for pictures. Say formal night Do they group you by room or allow you to choose who you wish to be in the pictures ?

And last are there any draw backs to this theory?

Whatever room purchases the CD are the people whose pictures that will always be on the CD. Just switching rooms (once onboard)won't work, I would think. The people who are on the reservation for that room are the ones that will always appear on the CD.

Assuming that Room 1 purchases the CD:

Current set up:
Room 1 - Grandma, Grandpa, grandkid 1, grandkid 2.
Room 2 - Daughter & Son-in-Law 1, Daughter & Son-in-Law 2

Any pictures taken with Grandma OR Grandpa OR either grandkids in them, would be on the CD.

If you mix up the rooms:
Room 1 - Daughter 1, Daughter 2, Grandma, grandkid 1
Room 2 - Son-in-Law 1, Son-in-Law 2, Grandpa, grandkid 2

Any pictures taken with Daughter 1 OR Daughter 2 OR Grandma OR grandkid 1 in them will be on the CD.

It looks like, mixing your group up (on the reservations) would mean you have a better chance of getting more photos on the CD.

Again, I'll say, you probably would have to actually move the people around on the reservation, not just switch rooms once onboard to do this.

When you arrive at the head of the line for your photos, you can tell them who you want in the photo(s). They usually try to do several combinations of everyone, but if they didn't hit on the combination you wanted, just ask. Remember, there will be others waiting in line behind you who will probably not take kindly to 14 different combinations of photos.

We're going on a 7-day cruise on Fantasy with my mom. Because the first two occupants of a room is automatically adult price (single occupant will be cahrged as two), TA placed my DD in her room to save on cost. So:

Room1:Me, DH, DS(8)
Room2:Mom, DD(6)

The rooms are connected, and we are most likely going to be all together so I think if we just buy 1cd under our room that'll have everyone. But if my mom is out with DD and takes character photo, that photo cannot be added to our cd even if it's our DD's photo?

Thank you in advance!

You just need to let Shutters know that DD in the other room is yours. Then she will be included in your CD photos (and any photos she is in).

How often are the kids photographed in the clubs? Or does this happen at all without guardians being present?

I know I've read that the characters sometimes visit the clubs and the kids sometimes get pictures with them. I believe they take the pictures individually, so no miscellaneous kids in the background. But it's not often.

Those pictures are not included in the Shutters packages (prints or CD). They typically give the picture directly to the child (or the parent) at the club.

Thank you! There's so much to think about - the CD sounds expensive, but it sounds like you do get a lot of photos...I'll need to convince DH somehow that it's worth the cost ;)

I saw a prepaid CD mentioned...is there a discount to prepay? If so, where would you prepay?

The price is the same whether you purchase pre-cruise or onboard. But, if you want to purchase pre-cruise you do it on the DCL website. Under the "Planning Center" tab click "in-room gifts".

Select your port and click "go"
Scroll down almost to the bottom to "My Cruise Photos.com" and click.

It will take you to a site off the DCL site where you can see and purchase the package you want.
