Has anyone ever eaten at Shutters in CBR? We need one more TS for our last night (staying @ CBR). We usually like to stay at the resort the last night in order to go swimming, get everything packed up etc.... Thinking about eating at Shutters, but I've never really heard any reviews on it. Thanks!

Shutters was one of our favorite meals. The food was delicious, the service excellent. My DGD has several food allergies and the Chef, who was on loan from POP came out and spent plenty of time making sure she was safe. SH ethen gave us ideas to help my DGD at breakfast. The entire night was one of our favorites.

We ate there during our Feb. Stay at CBR and really liked the food. I had the fish and it was served hot and tasted very fresh. We also really liked our dessert, but I can't remember what it was now, I think some kind of fruit cobbler thing maybe. We would certainly eat there again if we were staying at CBR.

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Citrus Poached Shrimp
. . . entree:.. Jerk Rubbed Mahi Mahi, Vegetarian Pasta
. . . dessert:. Tropical Fruit Cobbler
NOTE: The eatery is simply not anything special, It has an array of "Caribbean
Inspired" food, but only average or below average on the quality scale. If you are
hungry and do not want to go off the resort site, it is OK. However, doing it once
per vacation is probably overload. We thought it highly overpriced for the quality
and quantity of food; just could not understand mahi for $21 or a 10oz streak for
$30. For the money and quality, I would recommend the food court - turkey, pork
at reasonable Disney prices. About the only good point is Tropical Fruit Cobbler.

I think that it is unfortunate that this message is applicable for a lot of WDW restaurants. The TS restaurants are overpriced for what they serve in many cases, and if they were situated anyplace else, they would fold. For me, it is important to separate "home" and vacation eateries, and while I never recommend a restaurant that I think is way overrated (le Cellier comes to mind) I try to remember that there seems to be a baseline pricepoint for WDW eateries.

One of the reasons my family is so comfortable using the DDP is that we do not have to cringe at the cost of entrees that would sell for many dollars less at home. Anyway, while I would not travel from resort to resort for Shutters, I have to say that we liked it, adn enjoyed the food we ate. I cannot say that for BOG dinner, which was among the most mediocre meals I had. The only redemption was the glass of red wine I was able to enjoy with dinner. LOL!
