There are 2 photographers setup right when you exit the boat to have the ship in the background.
Closer to the beach there are two locations where photographers will be stationed for pictures taken with the characters. The characters are normally there for 30 minutes. What we do is show up around 10 minutes before they switch with the next set of characters and we can get pictures with 4 different people in a span of 15 minutes.
In the water there are also shutters photographers taking pictures, so they will take pictures of you in the water. The photographers wade in waist deep and this occurs in the morning. I didn't see them on the beach.
There is also a shutters photographer that will take a picture of you when you complete the 5k.
The pictures from the 5K and on the beach are all done using facial recognition, so you need to review your picture book to make sure your picture is there. If it's not there then it will be on the wall. Take note that if it is on the wall it will not be on your CD so you need to bring your picture to the desk and let them know to add it to your CD. This takes 30 minutes do don't do it the morning you pick up your CD.
If you take a lot of photos you might want to take a camera but it was nice since the shutter's pictures came out way better then ours.
I used my camera to take videos of my daughter talking to the characters, while I had shutters take the nice pictures.
We had the CD package and bought the prints as well for our Disney 4 Night Dream cruise and we were able to get 240 photos taken using shutters.
