Hi guys, we're goin to CBR in August :cool1: and are wodering how the restaurant Shutters is in the resort? We're going to make our reservations for the dining plan and are wondering if this place is recommended or not  . Thanks.

I'm glad you posted this as I've been wondering the same thing. We have ADRs on our last night at San Angel and I wondered if I should keep it or go w/ Shutters.

We stayed at the CBR last June and we really enjoyed Shutters. Everything we ordered (3 adults and 1 child) was good. Even our picky 9 year old found something he liked.

Have you checked out the menu at www.allearsnet.com? This might help make up your mind. Just click on Dining. Scroll down to Menus. Click and up will come all the Disney restaurant menus.

Have a great trip! We're headed back to the CBR for another 10 day stay on 5/31/07. Can hardly wait!

Yes, we did check out the menu and it looks like something that we are interested it. We are just wondering on the quality of the food...i suppose. Thanks.

We ate there last August and it was the only meal we had during our 10-day trip that wasn't very good. DH's steak tasted like liver and my entree (sorry, don't remember what it was) was not very good either. Our DDs enjoyed their kids' meals and we did enjoy the onion ring appetizer. Our server commented that DH barely touched his steak and he said it tasted horrible. She offered to bring him something else, but he declined. We've decided to skip it this trip. HTH

We were there last May and ate there as a last minute as we decided to let DD swim extra and not head off to a park as we originally planned. It was "ok"- I had the prime rib and I think DW had a chicken dish - hit the spot at the end of the day but not as good as other meals we had. A plus of the evening is we were sitting near one of the windows and were able to see the epcot fireworks from our table.

I deffinately recommend grabbing ahammock one night on the beach there and watching the fireworks.

I must be in the minority here but I think Shutters is the best kept secret in WDW! We've been there numerous times and have enjoyed everything from the prime rib to the roast chicken entree. DS who is very picky LOVES it there. I just read a post from our New Orleans thread yesterday from someone who just came back and it was her fave meal of the trip. I'll try and get her over here to post details!

CBR is a great resort and my favorite. (I havn't stayed anywhere else but I've hotel hopped :rotfl2:) ANYways...We at at Shutters one time. Our food was Ok, but nothing to write home about. I'd rather just do thier food court hands down though.. They have the "broiler" in the foodcourt that usually serves good hearty meals at dinner. Try it out once... You may like it, love it, or just think it was nice. Either way I'll think you'll be fine.

We've eaten at Shutters several times and always enjoyed our meals there. We just returned from a trip last week and ate at Shutters- we enjoyed our meal there again.

DH had the smoked prime rib with Shutters potatoes. We said both were delicious and that the prime rib was cooked perfectly and was a very generous portion and was the best prime rib he's had on property. He had the ceasar salad appetizer and said that was good as well.

I had the coconut shrimp w/island slaw as an appetizer and it was wonderful. What I usually don't like about coconut shrimp elsewhere is that it just tastes like fried shrimp and not "coconutty" enough. Well here I could definitely taste the coconut, and the island slaw had a little sweetness with a bit of mango thrown in- delicious. For the entree I had the Salmon BLT- pan seared salmon on top of a salad of arugula, tomatoes, and smoked applewood bacon. It was also delicious! The salmon had a nice sear on the outside, nicely crisp, but still perfectly tender on the inside. It was also a very generous portion of salmon.

For dessert, DH had the cheesecake w/strawberries, and I had the key lime tart. Again both were very good.

I will say the restaurant itself isn't as pretty as others, but we go there for the food and great tropical drinks (Caribbean Smugglers and Banana Cabanas- mmmmmm!). Go ahead and try it- there are always differing opinions on here about restaurants... what works for some may not work for others.

Any new reviews on Shutters?:confused3

We head off to WDW in 6 weeks and thought we would try it out one night since e have one TS credit not planned for and figured it should be pretty easy to get this late.
