Having never ate at this establishment, can anyone give us the low down on this restaurant and if it's worth the time? Thanks, Chip.

My hsuband and I went in June, and left our DD at Camp Dolphin (1st 2 hours are reimbursed by the restaurant). The beef was really good, the sides are huge and the service is very polished. It is pricey, but good for a splurge. It won't be an every trip place for us, but we did enjoy it

Thank you NCREDDING. I have really wanted to try this restaurant due to the fact that my wife and I both love steak. Thanks so much. Chip.

Hi Chip -

IMO Shula's is the best restaurant in all of WDW. We eat there multiple times when we visit. The beef is beyond words. The salmon & chicken are also very good. The sides are big and meant for sharing. My personal favorite is the potato pancake. I've tried everything to try and make it at home and can't. The service is truly up there with the best restaurants in the country. If you like steakhouse food, you'll love Shula's. I wish they'd open one in SF. Here is the menu - www.donshula.com/steakhouse/orlando/menu.htm

I have to agree with 1stNoel.::yes::

Shula's is in a class all by itself. It has the BEST steaks on property IMO. Go, you won't be sorry you did.

BTW - It is pricey but this is one of the few upscale restaurants that actually gives you a large amount of food!! I went to Blue Zoo and got 3, yes that is right *3* scallops with my 39.00 scallop meal! You will not leave here hungry!:sunny:

Another vote for Shula's. The steak is fantastic and the potato pancake - YUM!
Desserts are also wonderful. This is a very special restaurant for us, we got engaged there.

We love it too. Our meal with tip was $126 (I saw the receipt over the weekend) and for that we each ordered one drink from the bar and one steak (DH had the porterhouse - I had they NY Strip), and then shared a side of asparagus and creme brulee. We were full and happy, outstanding service too. We have paid a similar dinner price at many other places (California Grill included) and left there still hungry enough to have a snack later, not the case at Shula's.

Lest you think all the reviews are great.

I've been twice and didn't care for either experieince. The staff is haughty, the atmosphere is like a mens club, the sides were auful. The steak was very good and there were lots of choices. But still if you were to compare the Charred NY Strip at FF to the NY Strip at Shula's, FF wins hands down. Same with the Filet Mignon at Jiko.

So if a choice of large excellent steak is a must, if money is no object and you like the 'formal' dining they're trying to establish, then Shula's may be your place! But then again, maybe not! ;)

We ate there a few years ago and did not enjoy it. The steak we had was very dry and not very good. I also did not like the fact that my wife and myself had to pay $10 to split a steak.

Maybe it's just me, but who the heck do they think they are charging those outrageous prices for a steak and you still have to order a potato and veggies? Not for me thank you. I will take Le Cellier anytime. Had one of the best N.Y. strips ever there and the prices are reasonable.
