Is Shula's worth the money? Is a potato included or is it all ala carte? How about Garden Grove at the Swan? DH got Restaurant.com GC for Shula's, Graden Grove and Blue Zoo but we know little about each. Any info would be appreciated. TIA

Shula's is a la carte. Sides are huge, so plan on sharing with a few people. My gang loves it. (I am not a beef eater, so cannot comment on it.) The sides are delicious. We usually go on each trip. DH is also a huge Dolphins fan.

We went to Shulas on Dec. 8th., best part it was the baseball winter meetings and who was sitting next to us but...HANK AARON!!! Also, we were 10 minutes late and they gave our table away so we had to wait. I was really mad, but look what happened at the end. We parked our butts right across from the hostess station so she wouldnt forget about us etc.

All I can say is be prepared to spend alot of money. We spent like 150 and we do not drink alcohol. Yeah, we ate alot of food. This was a real special occasion for us. I promised dh he could go there since he held my hand for 2 days when I was in a coma last year and changed my bandage over 300 times.

We even had a TIW 20% discount.

Everyone was dressed well, mostly black for the ladies, men sport coats, polo or tie etc.

We had

DH: grilled shrimp app., lobster bisque soup, special ribeye of the night, (not on the menu),

Me: peach ginger ice tea, crab cake (great), lobster bisque soup (ok), same rib eye,

We shared: twice baked potato, this is not even the whole potato, just one long half, we also shared the creamed spinach, huge portion but very garlicky.

For dessert we shared the chocolate souffle.

The only thing that you didnt have to pay extra for was the bread. They did ask what type of water you wanted.

The service was good, but dh said he would rather try something else next time.

We have eaten there 3 times now, the most recent being December 11th. As always, everything was excellent. Yes, it is prcey, but you get what you pay for.

I think this picture is the best description I can give.

1) We enjoy Shula's.
2) As mentioned above, EVERYTHING is ala carte.
3) We eat at only five TS eateries in WDW, and Shula's is one.

Shula's is our favorite WDW restaurant. Awesome food, great atmosphere.
You won't be disappointed if you go.

BTW, we saw Hank Aaron walking out of Shula's:goodvibes

I haven't eaten at the Disney location of Shula's but I have eaten at a different Shula's before. The food and service were on par with the price. But, yes, it is pricey and it seems like the majority of posters or reivewers are happy with their Shula's experience.

I did use the Restaurant.com GC for Garden Grove. It was our first time there and we did the Southern BBQ buffet on Wednesday night. The service at GG was really good. Our waiter was very attentive. Your salad is brought to you table side and dished out to each person.

Our food choices were (not sure I will remember them all!) Pulled pork, prime rib, bbq ribs, bbq chicken and I think there was one other. Many sides including potato salad (ds and dh both agreed it was just ok), cole slaw, adult mac and cheese, and some other sides. There was a nice assortment of different breads including cornbread, sourdough rolls, rye rolls and about 3-4 other kind. There were also various sauces. The dessert assortment was abundant but I felt some of the offerings were too "different" for my taste. I would have liked some more choices of more traditional desserts such as choc cake etc. I did have a good little mini pecan pie and something lemony but I can not tell you the names.

Now that I think about it, there were cupcakes on the child's side of the buffet but I had already gotten 3 of the other desserts and couldn't eat any more! The children's buffet did have corn dog nuggets, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and some gelatins for dessert.

Overall, I would say this was not a bad buffet. We all agreed that it wasn't the greatest food we ever had, but we were all full and had a good time. For 3 adults, with the restaurant.com gift cert, plus tip, we paid approx $96 - 98. I don't have my receipt handy. Drinks are not included in the buffet price and you tip on the price of the bill before the discount.

If you are interested in breakfast, I have heard good things about it although we never did make it there.
