Shuffling Points inside 31 Days?

I have 2 reservations, a BWV 1BR in September and a Value AKV Studio in late October. I booked a week at BWV in September in October 2022 and I have added 3 days to it in the 7-month window. I booked the AKV studio in November 2022 for my niece's honeymoon. because she said last year that she was going to get married around Halloween 2023. I used banked points and current points. Now, I'm not sure that they will get married when they said they would so I probably won't need the October reservation. If I knew today, I would cancel the October reservation and swap/shuffle those banked points into my BWV reservation. BUT ... I might not know until next month. Would I be able to swap/shuffle my points for the September reservation in the 31 day window? Or, is the reservation "untouchable"?

Value AK studio will be no problem to rent out for cash, if it comes to it. I'd be fine doing this on a bunch of places, like Facebook.

If you want the points and not the cash, then yea, I guess you have a choice to make.

Any change to a reservation within 31 days will indeed result in the freed up points being put into holding.

So, if you want points from the October trip to be used in the September trip, you need to do that before you get to 31 days out.

If you have to cancel the October trip after that, then swapping isn’t going to help you.

Oh, I know that I can rent that reservation out lickity-split. I've rented out reservations on FB a number of times. It's super easy and an AKV value studio over 10/31 would sell in a couple of days.

That's what I thought. I'll reach out to my niece and see if the wedding is still on for this October or not. I have a few days until I hit my 31 day window.
