Shrinking Candy

Funsize and Mini had shrunk. They seem smaller and thinner than they were a year ago, with fewer in the package. It's sad.

What's worse is that this seems to be the norm across products.

A little OT, but we love when the holiday shapes come out. I think the chocolate/peanut butter ratio is better in the pumpkin/tree/egg shapes.

Peanut butter eggs (full size) seem to have the best ratio. Or they did, we will see what happens when they bring them back out in the spring.

The fun sized bags used to be around $2.50-$$3.00 for a 12-13 ounce bag . Now the bags are 10 ounces and around $5 ! Yikes !

When I first started with my company, standard size candy was 40 cents and King Size 69 cents.

Now it’s like $1.39/$2.49.

I don’t know if the sizes are the same.

Back then I remember looking at many packages for the weight. If I was going to pay 40 cents, I want the one that weighed 32 grams, not 31.

There's a vending machine in my apartment building. The Milky Way and Snickers bars are much smaller than they used to be. I don't buy them since they aren't worth the price.

Those bags of little candy niblets that are in the stores labeled Halloween candy are embarrassing. I'd have to give out 10 pieces to some poor kid who came out in the rain trick-or-treating, just for their effort. I've switched to whatever they call "full sized bars" for Halloween. My Company even gave us an early dismissal so we could go home to prepare for the trick-or-treaters.
