I saw a little bit of a news story on local TV about a new attraction at Universal. Apparently, there's an attraction with the Shrek Donkey that is kind of like Turtle Talk at WDW?

Anyone know anything about it? I can't find anything on line, and none of my Universal friends have heard of it.

Thanks!

Give credit where credit is due Bev! j/k ;)

But...but, your name was on the post in that thread.

(clears throat) May I have your attention please. The picture of Donkey was provided by none other than Slacking, "one of the nicest guys on the Universal boards."

We chatted to Donkey for ages last week. He had my two sons in stiches laughing. While we were walking away he was still calling after them. Wonderful moment to remember.

He's opposite the Shrek shop near where Shrek does his meet and greet. It's in the program when he's going to be there.

I stood and watched Donkey when I was there last week, he was very funny, singing along to the music they were playing and making jokes with the kids, he even sounded 90% like Donkey/Eddie Murphy which surprised me.

It's a good addition to the experience and it seemed to be quite popular.

Conversations? With donkeys? I'm assuming he's voiced by a real person like the talking fountain?

What an excellent idea. I'm sorry I missed it. I'm sure it is something that kids would remember for a long time.

Dude, Donkey is real! It's as real as Cera and Trike at the Triceratops Discovery Trail. Donkey and the triceratops aren't robots with skin. They are alive as you and me!

If you believe that, you can buy a bridge in Brooklyn!

The attraction is called "Donkey's Photo Finish" and, yes, he does a remarkably good Eddie Murphy.

The way it works is they open the door to Donkey's stable and you see his head. It's an animatronic and , if you look above the stable door, you can see the screen through which the performer gets a look at the outside world.

It's a fun little attraction.

Interesting note: If there's lightning nearby, the attraction closes quickly, Two issues, I was told: First all costumed characters have to avoid rain and, second, the electronics in the Donkey attraction make it risky for the crew when lightning's about.

Hey...

I work for Shrek and LOVE this new addition! I think the person who voices him does an excellent job. I love hearing people laugh at his antics when I go by.

The handlers also made me come over the other day. I carry a dragon plush around with me and they wanted to see what Donkey would do when he saw it. Was too funny! (he yelled, "Oh hey baby, come here and give me a kiss!") To the dragon of course...not me - LOL!

It's already very popular and is a great addition!

Sounds fantastic. My kids favorite character is Donkey, so they will have a ball.
