Shrek 2 has 125M+ opening weekend...wow!

Reports are saying that Shrek 2 had a 125M+ opening 'weekend', $104.3 million if you only count Friday thru Sunday. That would give it the record for a 5 day opening (beating Return of the King) and place it second only to Spiderman for the normal three day weekend. I think the closest Disney competitor would be finding Nemo at about 70m.

Unfortunately I still haven't had a chance to see it. Came close today...was at an exotic car show in Celebration and was thinking about hitting the 2:30 show at the theater, but the kids decided to get totally drenched in the fountain out front instead.

Funny. There was some sort of outdoor car/truck show/display on hwy 50 in Winter Garden today too.
I wasn't going to see Shrek2 in the theatre. But have to say, it does look good. May change my mind.

This was a small, but pretty good show. They had a few Lamborghini's, about eight Delorean's and more Ferrari's than I can count....including two of the $650K+ Enzo Ferrari's.

I saw Shrek 2 on Friday. Having never seen the first one, I can't compare between the two, but I must say that it was pretty funny.

My family saw it today. My husband thought it was "Fantastic, better than the first one!" I thought it was good - pretty funny, a lot of it totally went over my son's head! Visually it was fantastic, the digital animation was very impressive. At the beginning of the movie I actually thought it was starting with a live action sequence - but I then realized it was animated!

If you liked the first one, you will like the second one too. They totally recaptured the tone and humor, which is very rare in sequels.

We roared with laughter, and have recommended it to everyone we know. There is a scene with a certain small wooden puppet that is worth the price of admission. It came as such a surprise and was such a hoot............it hit me the same way that the exploding bird did in the first one. The punch line came from nowhere and stayed with me all day.

If you didn't like the first one (and I know people who hated it) you wont like this one any better.

But if you are in my camp........GO SEE IT!

Im sure disney wish's a animated film of there's could do this good at the box office. It seems Pixar and now dreamworks have taken over from disney.

Except don't forget Bob, that Dreamworks has had trouble getting people out to see their movies for the most part. Their movies are all decent IMO but people don't usually give them a chance.

My husband took our son to see Shrek 2 this weekend and they've both been really praising this movie. My son said that his new favorite animated character is Puss in Boots. Good for Banderas. I guess that I'll be seeing this movie sometime this week.

AT our megaplex we sold out 51 out of 64 shows of Shrek2
CRAZY CROWDS. and today it's a holiday (Victoria Day) so nothing is open but the theater.
