When does DCL change their evening shows? We went on the Magic 12/01 and are going back 1/03. Will the shows be the same?!

Can't wait to sail again!!!!

from all that i have gathered, the shows will be the same.

I was really hopping they would change annually... I don't want my DD to be bored. Then again she may be at kid camp with her friends. :Pinkbounc I love kid camp!!!

I'm confused?! I checked with DH and he remembered that new shows started with our 2/8/02 Magic cruise.... so then shouldn't new shows start at the end of the year?! I find it really hard to believe that they don't change...it would get boring.:o

I aslo went on the Magic in December, 2001, and am scheduled to go back in Jan, 2003. From trip reports and posts on various groups that I have read, the shows are still the same today as last December.

It is very expensive to change out these shows. I have a nephew who has worked special assignments on the ship twice while they were preparing a new show. That was primarily when the Magic was converting to the seven-day cruise format. And another time, when the show just was not pleasing people. The cost is primarily in the sets, props, computer programing, and lighting that goes with each show. They do not tend to replace or modify the show unless something is really not working well. The reviews for the shows there at this time are pretty good, on average.

To put it in perspective, think of how long the same shows are performed in the parks. Beauty & the Beast and Hunchback are over six years old. The Festival of the Lion King is over four years old.

DH and I cruised on the Magic 1/01 and we are going again 1/03, and I for one am hoping the shows will not change before then. We really enjoyed the "Welcome Aboard" variety show, and the "Farewell" one as well. And we LOVED "Disney Dreams" (really looking forward to seeing that one again!) but we didn't care much at all for the magic show (C'est Magique?) or the one about Hercules....so we plan to skip those two and do something different with those evenings. We never got to see a sunset on our first cruise, we were always at dinner (first seating) and then going to the show, maybe this time we'll enjoy dining at Palo one of the nights we don't go to see the show, and we'll be able to enjoy a couple romantic sunsets on the cruise!! :bounce:
