showing up 45 min late for a ADR? on purpose?

Well, talk about getting your knickers in a knot! Not okay to lie? Tell that to the candidates running for president. In fact, tell it to our current president.

Anyway, in our experience they will try to accommodate you if possible if you arrive late for your ADR time. We once misunderstood the time we'd reserved at Tony's Town Square and arrived something like 25 minutes late (thinking we were 10 minutes early). We had to wait but they got us in. No guarantees, of course, but in my experience they certainly try.

As for Cinderella's Royal Table -- try for lunch. The Princess lunch is great fun.

dcg12A is absolutely right it is not OK to lie. It is hard to believe you are condoning this?? Just becasue some one else lies does not make it OK for you.
What if everybody started to lie so they could get the Reservation time that they really wanted but couldn't get? Then Disney would have no choice but to stop seating people who are late So people who truly have a good honest reason for being late are SOL. It is a slippery slope.

And more than it being "not okay" to lie, telling others that it is okay to lie is a second layer concern. It isn't okay to lie, or to deceive by omission, to get more than you're entitled to, but if you are going to, then keep that to yourself.

It depends on the time of year but sometimes the last seating is 10:50. They may not even still be seating by the time you get there. I would not try going late. I think you'd have a better chance of going very early and trying to get in then because lots of people run late for those early breakfast times.

Personally I would not go to an ADR purposefully 40 minutes late, even if I could get seated. You have tried for that time and legitimately, it is not available.
What you propose to do is self centered and wrong.

No comments on "right or wrong" from me!

Just a note from experence.

In Sept. I had 6:30 pm ADR's at Kona. I left MK at 6:pm It was pouring rain and lightening.. The boats were not running (safty issue)and the Monorail was not running either (some sort of matinence issue) We got to Kona to about 7 pm. Told them what had happened and they nicely said they would seat us when they could....that was about 8:45 pm. We had drinks at the bar and waited (no problem for 2 adults).

You may actually LOSE time by showing up late. I would not take the chance with a child. Also being that is is breakfast, you may not get seated at all!!

I would be afraid of either not being seated at all (depending on what time they stop seating people) or having to wait a huge amount of time.

Choose which one is more important. I wouldn't purposefully go late, I think that is just wrong.

There is also a boat that goes from MK to GF, so that may be quicker (and more direct) transportation.

If it's not crowded when you go to MK at rope drop, and you have a good plan of what you want to do, you can likely get in several rides by 10.

This is true...Go get a fastpass for one of the thrill rides then spend your hour at Fantasyland. You'll be able to get through many of the attractions in that hour.

You might even be able to grab another fastpass before you leave.
I don't think the monorial loop takes 1/2 an hour.

You can likely be a few minutes late for your breakfast, but I would not chance 45 minutes

I am going to agree with several of the previous posters, and throw in my two cents. Keep trying to get the later ressie. If you are unable to, keep the time you have, decide which rides are "have to do" and do those first when you enter the park. Plan to be leaving the park by 10:00. Take the boat over to the Grand. It will usually get you there faster than the monorail. Yes there is a monorail that goes by the Grand first, but it does not stop there. It is the express to the TTC. The grand is the last stop on the resort loop, and especially in the morning, it tends to take a little longer and fill up quickly.
It seems like you really wanted to meet the Mary Poppins characters. Like others have suggested, the lunch at Cindy's may work for you too. The breakfast is VERY difficult to get. When we did it two years ago, Mary Poppins herself was there. Not sure if she still does it or not.
As far as the showing up late. I wouldn't suggest it. Besides the fact that it's not fair to someone who could have been seated when you were supposed to be, but you do risk losing your spot. Depending on the time of the year, some restaurants are very accomodating and will seat you no matter when you show up. However, you are talking about a popular character meal that fills up fairly quickly. I wouldn't take the chance of upsetting my child when we show up late and are told we can't be seated.
Sorry to be long. Not trying to be preachy. Just trying to be objective.

I know that its been said, but please don't show up late. First of all to just do that on purpose is so wrong, also the time you have someone else might be trying to get it....if you don't want it let someone else have it. I know too from having three young children they don't take well to the rush rush. When your son sees the park he more than likely will not want to leave to go eat anyway. Coming to from a mom would "forced" her children to eat at Cindy's, the boys would rather eat some where else. Crystal Palace is great, and its a character meal also. You could possibly try chef mickeys for an early breakfast, and then just take the monorail to mk. Trust me when I say you can plan and plan, and it might look like you have everything covered, but the kids always want to change something.

Ok, we've only made it it MK once this week, but when we came back to the parking lot GF was the FIRST stop...so it took maybe 5 minutes, not 29. I know the entire circuit of the monorail is supposed to take 20something minutes, but if MK to GF is only one stop away, then it's very probable you'll be much earlier than you think.

In fact, now that I think about it....we have reservations in one day for BBB at the castle, then to GF for tea and photos in the afternoon and then back to MK for dinner at the Castle.....and the ADR person said no problem getting from BBB to the tea, but that we were cutting our time short to return to MK from GF because the monorail ride was all the way around the parks/resorts, so we upped our time by 30 minutes and she felt that was sufficient.

Just FYI in case this is of help to anyone:

The resort monorail runs: MK to Contemporary to TTA (Transportation and Ticket Center, a/k/a the "parking lot") to Poly to GF to MK...etc...

The express monorail runs only from MK to TTA and back. This runs in the other direction, which is why the poster saw the GF first, they were on the express monorail.

So the GF would be the LAST stop from the MK, not the first.

Again, just FYI.

I would be afraid to show up that late for breakfast - afraid I would miss out on the breakfast stuff.

I personally love Crystal Palace - try there for breakfast. Or as others have said, CRT lunch. The lunch/dinner food at CRT is better than breakfast there anyway (its not a buffet but a very limited pre plated meal). The lunch and dinner choices are good though.

Enjoy!

Are you saying that it is OK to lie???? Tell me you are not!!! That is what is wrong with people these days!!!! It's all about you and to H*@@ with everyone else!!!! What makes you so special that you are above everyone else??? "What is right for you - is right." So are you the one who pushes my children aside and stand in front of them so YOU can see the parade?? Are you the one who cuts in line when we have been waiting to see a character?? I sure hope you have your flame retardant suit on, because you are wrong, it is NOT ok to lie!! Do what is right!!! Take responsability for yourself and your actions!!!

That was the Christmas Day parade right? Thanks for the great spot. Last minute too.
