Do I need ID for my 5 year old? How do they work with small kids and checking IDs?

The 5 year old's name will get written on the ticket by either you or the CM. When entering the park, the CM may ask your child to state his/her name and may also ask you, the parent, to show your own ID. You do not have to show ID for a 5 year old.

When I took my nephews a couple of weeks ago, the cast member had them sign their cards. They are 12 & 10 and did not need ID.

My 14 yo dd was asked for a Student ID last month but was let in without further ado when I said she didn't have any.

We upgraded to AP's so the tickets were a non-issue. However, we were hanging in the GCH lobby before our flight home. My 12 year old wanted to buy something from the gift shop. I gave her $20 and her AP. The cashier gave her a hard time about not having an ID. My daughter said that she's 12 and doesn't have one. The cashier asked if she was homeschooled. She said no. The cashier said that then she should have her school ID. She let her buy the item. I would have been ok going with my ID and pass and making the purchase but was irritated that she gave my daughter a hard time. But that was the only time it was an issue. All 3 kids bought stuff by themselves with their passes and didn't have a problem.

We just returned yesterday. Our kids (6 and 8) were not asked for ID any of the zillion times we went through the turnstiles. In fact, while my husband offered up his ID every time, I was only asked a few times (and was let through the two times I didn't have it).

We just returned from our trip in early November. My girls (4 & 5) were never asked their names, or to show any I.D. I always lead the pack with all tickets and My I.D. and My DH's I.D. with the tickets and handed them to CMs every time we entered. Never any problems. :goodvibes

DD4 was never questioned (though 2 days she had on a shirt with her name on it). One day DH and I weren't asked for IDs when we entered DL.

DD12 didn't have to show her ID when we went in, DD16 didn't either but she has an AP so her picture comes up. :)
