Are you required if underage OR if you LOOK underage to show proof of your age to go in to bars or lounges while at Disney World? I won't be drinking, I am 27 and i still get ID'd. I know some bars won't let you in here, even if you don't drink, unless you have ID. I like to go "purseless" if at all possible.

thanks!

Yes

*Personal Experience - Your Experience May Differ*

We were ID once at Petals - and the next time, I had forgotten my wallet in the room, but it was the same bar tender and he remembered me, so I didnt need to go back and get it.

I don't drink at the parks, so I didn't have to worry about it

BOO...
i know one day i will enjoy this 'youthful' look hahaha

I'm pretty sure the answers above are wrong. With a few exceptions (some of the entertainment venues at Boardwalk or Disney Springs, for example), there's no age requirement to ENTER the bar/lounge and you won't be ID'd. If you order a drink, yes, you may be asked to show an ID and won't be served if you don't.

Traded Sam's, a few places in the Boardwalk Area, and anywhere else that is "adults only" after a certain time will ID you upon entering. All others (Rose and Crown, Ragalen Road, etc) will only card if you order an alcoholic beverage.

I would plan on being asked for ID but only if ordering alcohol. I'm not aware of any lounges that ask for ID upon entering - I think that would be the exception rather than the rule. I personally always carry ID so it's never been an issue for me - plus I'm just a few years past looking like I need to be carded.....just a few ;)

In terms of carding for purposes of entry only the only place on property I can think of is Jelly Rolls (BoardWalk). But I'm so old it's been a while since I worried about being carded!

I got carded at the pool bar at BWV. I'm 38 with a 14 year old and I was with my mother! The bartender wouldn't accept my daughter as ID so I had to go to the room and get it. She didn't ask my Mom for ID.

I was just thinking about this! Any international folks with experience (with apologies to the OP for being a bit :offtopic:)? Last trip I carried my Canadian drivers license and was told I needed at least a photo of my passport too. Anyone else international have problems with a passport photo?

to go in to bars or lounges

No, not to go into them. Except for Jellyrolls and TSam's after a certain time.

But you should have your ID with you. Purseless is great, but bring ID. I bring ID, insurance card, credit card at the very minimum. If DH is with me and we might get a DVC discount, I carry his DVC card (I have custody of it LOL b/c it's in the "vacation wallet"). ID and insurance card are just in case something happens and I end up in the ER. Although we are supposed to be treated without proof of insurance, etc, anyone with my bad luck with seeking help knows that they will be a HUGE pain in the patootie until you show your ID and insurance card. I don't like pains in my patootie when already in the ER.

Bring your ID etc.

If a bartender cards you, you have to show it. My neighbor is 97, and if a bartender for some reason asked him for ID, he has to show ID. Otherwise the bartender could get into trouble.

I carry ID even though I am long past the point of anyone asking for it, lol. It's just something I was taught to do always. ID, a credit card, and $20-40 in cash. even if it is something like this attached to my keys and nothing else:

I know you are probably magic banding it but get a little slim case that holds a couple of cards and a $20 and stick it in your pocket.

It is just a bad idea to not carry an id you never know what could happen. I bet you will be taking you cell phone so why not get a case that can be use as a wallet that is what I do at the parks so I don't have to carry a bag.

Something like this https://m.katespade.com/products/ce...r_8ARU0782_color=683&cgid=ks-accessories-tech

I have the same problem and they always ask for my ID. In fact I went out with my BFF and we went for drinks and they didn't ask us for an ID, but they ask for our ID at the movie theater to make sure we could see the R rated movie :joker:.

Yes. I look very young...even at 38 I get carded frequently. You should always have your ID on you, regardless. Enjoy looking young....at 38 it's about the only thing I like about getting older :)

Yes and that is actually a Florida state law. At Disney you are allowed to use a photo copy of your passport but at Universal you need your actual passport as drivers license means nothing to them there for internationals. Disney will take an English drivers license and a copy of the passport.

Yes, I know. I wasn't offended with her carding me. I knew she was just doing her job. We were joking around with her about my daughter being my ID. It was all in good fun. :)

To go in, no. To order beverages, yes. They WILL card you if they think you look young enough. I'm 51, I don't look that young, and I get carded once in awhile.

if you're planning to go in and not purchase any alcoholic beverages, you won't need an ID. Except for Trader Sam's after 8 PM, and Jellyrolls, where you must be 21 to enter.

Yes, the passport thing is Florida state law, although they will accept a photocopy of the passport if it accompanies a government issued photo ID.
