Shower Guest List

I'm starting to plan my showers and realized that I have no idea how to do the guest lists. We are planning to do a reception at home after our honeymoon...normally I follow the rule of if you are invited to the shower you are invited to the wedding...any clue/ideas how that works with a destination wedding followed by an at home reception???? I'm so afraid that I'll offend people by inviting them to a shower and then NOT inviting them to Florida...???

Are you having a custom or intimate wedding? We are having an intimate with a reception back home afterwards, so I will be doing "if your invited to the shower, your invited to the reception". Everyone knows and accepts that we are having a small wedding, they are just happy that we are having a reception when we get back home. Hope this helps!

I had a custom, so I only invited people to showers that were invited to the wedding. However, if you’re an intimate bride, I think it would be OK to invite people to showers that are invited to your at home reception. Just spread the word that you’re having a really small wedding so no feelings get hurt.

send the ahr invites out before the shower if possible. if all your ahr guests know theyre invited to the ahr before the shower i think that would defuse any problem.

It's a custom wedding that 254 of our closest friends, relatives, and their children have been invited to...those invited to the at home reception only will mostly be business associates of mine, dh2b's, and both sets of parents...

I wasn't really sure when to send them out. It's funny, I thought doing this as a destination wedding would make things easier and less stressful, but instead it adds all sorts of interesting twists

My original feeling was that I would not invite AHR guests to the shower. But then the director of my ballet school where I teach wanted to throw a shower for me for the people from the school that were invited. However, there's only like three that are Florida invitees and the rest would be AHR guests...
