showbiz moms and dads

TIVO'd it--Going to watch it now. Will post my opinions when I am finished viewing.........

Wow!!! Those parents are extreme....

Ducan Nutter does not have his children's best interest in mind. Infact, he only cares about himself. His wife is an accomplice. His children will grow to resent him.

Debbie Tye (pagent mom), should be arrested for child abuse. She forces her daughter to suck her thumb whenever she protests the mental (is forcing a child to get a sprayon tan physical abuse..if so...) and physical abuse handed to her.

It was so great on tonight's episode when the Emily (pagent girl) told her mom that her breath was "stinky!".

Ooh, I'm gonna go watch that right now. At least I taped tonight's episode...forgot all about Oprah!

I'm about ready to strangle those moms (and dad)...It drives me insane to watch them. However, much similar to a car wreck, I can't help but peek (I don't really peek at car wrecks).

Jordan Moseley's mom seems to be the best.

Speaking of dads (besides that obnoxious one - Nutter) - Where are they? Why aren't the dads stepping in and saying enough!?!

I have to tell you, Debbie Klingensmith is REALLY annoying me. "Shane will give you ALL autographed head shots just as soon as they come in!" SHEESH WOMAN!

What's funny is I looked her up in the Kissimmee phone book, and there's her number. Maybe I should call and tell her what a psycho she is :scratchin (no I wouldn't really do that!). But I swear to you, she and Shane have been in my store several times before. That boy can not sing. Or dance. Did you hear one of the dancers say "OW!" during the preview for next week's show when Debbie pushed her to go back onstage???

Jordan Mosely and her mom are the only normal ones. Well, except for Duncan Nutter, the rest of the family is normal. Poor little Emily Tye :(

I felt so sorry for those kids. Especially when the dad said he was giving his plan a DECADE to work. He was so oblivious to how miserable his kids looked.

I really believe that Bravo had to search for the most dysfunctional moms and dad they could find. They are all going to be sorry for what they did to their kids. I really can't believe that these parents can't see what they are doing. I would never put my kid into show biz. A kid has to be a kid first then they can go out and fulfill their own dreams on their own. Can anybody say Gary Colemen, Dana Plato, all of Our Gang, Dennis the Menace (sorry forgot his real name), the list goes on and on. As the doctor on Oprah pointed out the only functional well adjusted child star I can think of is Ron Howard. Wake up people.

It's on Bravo Tuesday nights at 9 (in between Queer Eyes) and I believe again on Fridays at 6 PM.

I only watched part of it last night.

I'll admit, at the beginning I thought the boy Shane and his mom were ok, but then I saw more and realized that she's the puppeteer and he's just the poor boy on strings.

That little girl Emily is so cute and I really feel sorry for her. She was having a melt down in FAO Schwartz and her mom told her she was 4 years old and act like it. I know I'm not a mom (yet), but isn't that how 4 year olds act? They get cry-ie and whine-ie? I mean, nobody likes it, but kids do have melt downs, right??

The Nutter family...well the name says it all. I don't know what dad wants for that family other than fame. (and is it just me or does he have strange eyes? Kind of like Charles Manson wierd??).

That teen who "wants" to be an actress surely doesn't seem to act like it. I feel sorry for the mom and I feel sorry for her. Mom is really working hard for her and she just doesn't seem to work at all (knowing her lines, practicing, etc) I can't understand why she's gotten some roles.

Then there's the very sweet little 8 year old. A mom who seems to care about her daughter and a girl with talent who wants to work. Mom works with her in the car, but lets her be a kid too. What a concept!

Sad commentary on parenthood when only one out of all of these seems to be somewhat "normal"

I cannot believe what some people think is "fun" for their children. Poor little Emily, she's bribed with candy and toys, then it's taken away from her. When she cries her mother tells her to suck her thumb to shut her up? The mom keeps saying how much she (Emily) loves it but did you see her little face during that 4 hour boot camp? How about her face when her hair's being done or she getting the tan? Crazy.

I like little Jordan. She's a cutie and her mom seems to be the most level-headed of the bunch. They seem to have a nice relationship.

I CANNOT stand Shane or his mother. They both rub me the wrong way. Puberty better hit soon for him because he just can't go through life with that voice. I love how he's so "busy" signing autographs!

Mrs. Nutter needs to pack up her kids and head home to Vermont. See if Dad can survive in the city as an actor without his childrens' incomes. He's a whacko who seems to be burning bridges as fast as he can.

I, like a lot of you, cannot stop watching this. I wish they'd do a follow up in about 20 years and see how everyone's doing.

Did you notice how Emily's mother grabbed and sort of "shook" her daughter at FAO Schwartz and told her to suck her thumb and shut up? I think as soon as she did that, she remembered the cameras were on her, and "turned nice" again. I have never, EVER grabbed my daughter like that, and it burns me up to see parents do that to their kids.

Mrs. Nutter does need to step up and move back to Vermont. She IS the only breadwinner for the family in New York, and how healthy is that for 7 kids and two parents to share a 2 bedroom apartment? They need to sit down and tell their dad they're going back home.

I wish Jordan Mosely the BEST in everything she does. What a cutie pie, and I'm amazed at the loving relationship she and her mother have.

The other Jordan needs to have her mouth washed out with soap with the way that she talks to her mother. They need to move back to Colorado, because Jordan doesn't seem too "committed"...she never practices her lines!!

Shane isn't too bad, but his mother is HORRIBLE! I can't believe the lies that his mother tells people about him....he's cutting a record, starring in a major motion picture, blah blah blah. I couldn't believe she told that group of girls that they were performing in front of "tens of thousands of people" and to expect to give autographs  From the previews, it looked like a crowd of 100 people. How did he get the chance to perform at the stadium anyways?

My bf and I were actually embarrassed to sit there and listen to him sing.

that and the fact that she feels the need to "throw in" an "autographed picture" (even though it's old they'll still love it) of her son with the timeshare she is selling?

the woman is just HORRIBLE...she so pushy and witchy...and her son is NOTHING special IMO. can't sing, dancing like he is is so "last year" and she's acting like he's the next Nick Carter...whatever...she WISHES!

This show is such a train wreck-that's why I gotta watch it! We were remarking on what a talented cutie Jordan Moseley is and my husband said "No one would watch the show if it was an hour of this!" Sad to say that he's right! I'm fascinating by the whole Jon Benet thing anyway-that's what got me watching. That little girl is so sweet-wish she had a different mom.;)

you are so right!

we much rather see people fall flat on their faces, or make arses out of themselves, then actually do a good job - like Jordan Moseley.

she IS a cutie though...and I love her mother's attitude about it all.

When this show ended last night and they showed previews for next week, I was so anxious to watch it! It IS like a trainwreck, I can't peel my eyes off of it - and I HATE waiting another week for another wreck!

Emily's mom was infuriating me in the toy store. "you're 4 years old, act like it!" She WAS acting like a 4 year old! Poor baby. I hope this mom is embarassed when she watches herself on the show.

That poor talentless kid with the crazy mother... she is out telling potential timeshare clients that their kids can have autographed pics of him? And telling those parents to get prepared for autographs and swarms of fans? YEAH RIGHT!!!! I can't wait to see that show he's doing with the backup dancers. I think its amusing he's just in the CHORUS of a local performance of Annie. Doesn't that say something about his talent? I think it's commendable for the average person to get a spot in a local theater, but for her to be spouting about autographs and fans and him not do better than a chorus position is quite telling of his talent, er, lack thereof. Poor guy.

I PROMISE that dad is a closet gay... I don't mean to judge, but isn't it fairly obvious? Their marriage is sad to me. They don't even connect on a basic level. So so sad. It's like they're strangers... he talks to his children and wife so oddly. If i were her, I would pack up the kids and move back home and cut him loose to live his dream...

Each week is so eye-opening. Can't WAIT for next weeks!

I totally agree - it's like he's the big pink elephant in the room (giggle) and the show isn't mentioning it.

I totally don't mean to judge or anything...but it IS quite obvious!
