Inspired by the show your face thread...

I thought it would be fun for us to share pictures of our homes. We DISers come from all over the place so it should be interesting to see the different architecture. You can also tell a little about your home.

We live in the country near the Yadkin Valley region of the Piedmont Triad of NC on 7 acres. Our house is OLD. Built in 1880. It's indeed a project but we love it. The inside is a work in progress! This pic was taken in early spring. - PamNC

If you can tell me how to post a pic, I will post my house...

Thanks :)

I don't have one yet, but I'll get mine in. If I could figure it out. LOL.

By the way, the two houses above are nice.

Pugdog - I like your house - very nice! I'm glad I had this idea, this is going to be fun.

As far as how to post - I probably am not the best one to explain because my husband figured it out and taught me. You have to register on photobucket.com (free) and house the pics there. Then you copy the url of the particular picture...come back to your thread and click on the little postcard looking thingy above in the toolbar and paste the url in there.

That is probably the most pathetic explanation on the planet...someone more techy can explain it better. I'm sorry about that.

Looking forward to seeing more houses.

I noticed I got a lot of pics on the Show your Kitty thread but not many takers on the houses.

Just bumping to see if anyone will play along. I love looking at different homes in different areas of the country/world...

Mine isn't as pretty yet... this is a pic of it the day we closed 2 weeks ago. We now have a fence & sod. It's a duplex 2200 sq ft. 3 bathrooms, 2 full baths on each side along with a 2 car garage. While my DH is deployed my Mom is going to move in on one side. She is actually on her way driving from NY. DH has about 4 yrs left till he retires from the Army (he hits 20 years) and we will use this house as an investment property and rent it out after we move. I will take a pic later with the sod & fence..looks so much better!

Your house is very pretty. Brick can't help but be pretty.

So you live in Texas...I noticed the white sand in your not yet planted yard. You must live near the coast. Around here unplanted yards are red clay.

Thanks for sharing.

Nope basically landlocked. Coming from Long Island (just moved here in April) its hard that the water/coast is so far away. We are in central Texas. Stationed here hopefully till DH retires from the military in 4.5 years (but who's counting?). The ground is mostly clay/sand. We had sod installed this week so I will take some pics later on. We also added a privacy fence. I do love the brick though, brick wasn't very popular back east.

Thanks!

I love your house - thanks for posting. It's very nice and it looks so homey, with a touch of class. I like your front porch! Looks like a cool place to sit in the spring and summer.

We should all be proud of our homes. It's the American dream.

No pics of my house--bland and so not pretty compared to your homes.

I love houses and homes and real estate and every house is beautiful in my opinion. I'm the OP and the person who started this thread..my house is wonderful and it appears more majestic and pretty on the outside than it is on the inside. It's a fixer upper, that's for sure! Put it this way, it use to rain in our den. Top that one. Then, when we were putting in a new ceiling tons of blown in insulation spilled out and created quite a mess. The stories I could tell you would scare you...but we love it.

You live in Florida, so the architecture is way different but that doesn't mean it's bland and not so pretty. I sort of dig the Florida stucco thing. Very different from where I live, but beautiful nonetheless.

momtojon, are you in the Spokane area?
My mum is in CDA and that looks very much like the type of builders in that region. :)

Ive posted mine before but here it is, it is sorely in need of a piant job right now. We moved in last May and are slowly getting the things done that we can right now. The interior has ben the big thing.

The big dead tree in the front is gone now.

Nope, other side of the state, south of Seattle. I think for the most part the Pacific Northwest has all sorts of houses, not much brick though.

I love your house, I can totally picture large family Thanksgiving dinners there!

Thanks! The front porch is one of the things that sold us on it - I need to get a bench or swing or something for it though, and trim the branches on that tree in the front so it lets in a bit more light.
