I also make nappy cakes for the Mummys2B in our family , and baby sock roses.

I love this idea!!
My sisters first baby is due in 10 days :jumping1: and I have been trying to think of little surprises to do for her. I love this but this is a little out of my ability league  Mine would probably look more like an Eton Mess lol xxx

Do you sell them?

No I don't sell them but they are simpler than they look , Youtube has loads of great tutorials, I start with a large round cake board, and pop the bottle of bubbly in the centre.

Then all of the nappies get rolled from bottom to waistband to form loads of little rolls , they look like mini roll cakes, securing each one with an elastic band.

Then I put 3 or 4 strong large elastic band around the bottle and use them to secure the nappy rolls as I build them around the bottle.

Once the nappies are in place I cover each layer at a time with tissue paper and/ or material to fit the theme , the one above was Bumble Bees.

Then decorate each layer with little gifts like dummies, socks even things like chocolates for Mum (or Dad).

Here's my latest finished item. A scarf for my mum for Mothering Sunday.

And a close up

The yarn was really pretty with sequins. Sadly it also had a lot of breaks that meant I had a lot of ends to sew in :(.

That looks absolutely beautiful.

Libby, your scarf is beautiful. Is it knitted or crocheted?
