I was set on having my hair down and curled for the wedding. We ended up running late (that's a whole other story though) and my mom and two BM's had up-do's so at the last minute I told Lily from Beaute Special to put it all up. I gave her no ideas, no suggestions, just UP and this is what I got. I LOVED it!
I watched Patricia closely both times. She started by curling EVERYTHING with a curling iron into really pretty spiral-like curls. Then, she made a pony-tail with the back hair. She left the fringe area (I don't have bangs, but it was the hair that is in the front and on the front sides) loose. This pic shows the hair that was kept from the pony-tail (in a clip at this point)
Then she took the curls that were loose in the front and twisted them and pulled them loosely into position near the ponytail. She would pin these really well with a couple of bobby-pins. So, then I had a pony tail of curls with the front kind of loose and wavy. Then she started taking the curls one-by-one and pinning them into the whole mess (with LOTS of bobby pins). She would put one in to pin it and then another to "lock" it. Here's a pic of it in June in-progress...
