The last non-Disney place I went to was Las Vegas.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Looking across Lake Bellagio towards Paris, Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood (previously Alladin) and MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. New York, New York is seen on the far right. The construction happening in front of NY, NY is City Center, an MGM Mirage project. Taken from a room in the Augustus Tower of Caesars Palace.

Our family goes each summer to western NC in the Lake Junaluska/Waynesville/Cherokee area. We usually go on a hunt for some of the many beautiful waterfalls in that area.

We spent 3 weeks in Santorini and Crete this past month. We have decided that if you have not visited Greece, you haven't lived. The people are absolutely wonderful (although, it helped that we spoke a "leego" greek). They brought us into their lives, they treat family and friends with great respect, they love pets, and they even offered us jobs. The countryside and villages are beautiful (but, stay away from Athens at all costs) and the views are breathtaking (especially if you hike the Samarian Gorge). And don't get me started on the food. We have brought home many great memories and a love for eleeneeka cafes and frappe. OPA!

Have you seen any of Hans Silvester's work, like the Cats in the Sun series? I got "Cats in Love" for my wife a few years ago; it's some really nice cat photography, all taken in Greece.

Wow what a difference from the last time I was there back in '96. NYNY was about 6 months from being open. Paris had a big sign saying coming soon and the Bellagio hadn't even been thought of. Things change quick there. They can have a hotel built in about 9-10 months start to finish. Its crazy how quick they go up.

I work less than 10 minutes from this battlefield. DH and I took a motorcycle ride through it last year. Also, I live about 30 minutes from Gettysburg. We plan on taking a ride there this summer. Hope to get some beautiful pics!!!

There are some really nice places to get pictures from in Gettysburg. My sister and I were there earlier this month. I will have to upload some of my photos from it later tonight to post. :)

These are from Gettysburg National Military Park. All but one of them was taken in April 2007.

The field where Pickett's Charge began. This photo was taken in June 2006. I have one from our April trip, but I like this one better. In the distance on the left side of the photo is the Pennsylvania Monument, which can be seen from several spots on the battlefield.

Such beautiful photos everyone and such a range of places from Utah, North Carolina to Colorado to Sharpsburg to the Grand Canyon to Greece to Las Vegas to Mt. St. Helen's to Gettysburg and all on one page!

I was especially taken with the Colorado (hiked there in summers); North Carolina (traveled there last fall) and Grand Canyon (did three days there in 2000). But the Mt. St. Helens and Las Vegas pictures literally stopped me in my tracks! What gorgeous views from a plane of a mountain in snow that did so much to the west in 1980! And I forwarded the Las Vegas picture thread to DH because we're thinking about a trip with DS for his 21st birthday this summer! Handicap18 - That picture from your room is breathtaking! And thanks for your notes and links to other pictures.

Living in Maryland I've been to Sharpsburg, Antietam and Gettysburg and they never fail to move and inspire.

Again, thanks everyone for your wonderful pictures!

I'm loving everybody's beautiful photos! Before I had dogs, I used to travel, but now if we're not at Disney, we're at an agility trial! (Really, that's all I EVER do!) So, any place where there is a ring, and some jumps and tunnels and a judge, that's all the vacation I need these days.

Grace is just starting her agility career.
