I thought that this might be an interesting thread, hopefully you will, too! Let's see the very first photo you took after getting your camera. Feel free to put in multiples from different cameras. Maybe some armchair psychologists can analyze them and determine what kind of a person you are, too!

My first digicam was a Fuji 2800Zoom, 6x zoom, 2mp. Great basic PnS camera. I'm going to start right off by cheating, as the first picture is just gross (featuring some cat vomit - I have no idea why! one of our old cats was a serial vomiter so it was a common sight), so here's the second photo, when my wife was going through her "bunny" phase... this was our third rabbit, Winnie. Thankfully we're back to zero now - they're very cute but they're pretty messy and stinky, too.

My second was a Minolta Z5, chosen after much research. It was a pretty good 12x zoom IS 5mp PnS, but the noise levels were unacceptably high for my tastes - a shame, as it was otherwise very nice. In this case, I long ago deleted the first six pics I took, I have no idea why as I almost never delete photos... so here's the first one that I have, number seven. This is our greyhound Buster (named after Buster Keaton). We eventually found another home for him as our schedule just didn't allow for enough time for him and our new son, but we do still go visit him occasionally. Really a beautiful dog - and I'm not a dog person at all. (That's why we got a greyhound, they're very cat-like!)

My current is my Pentax *ist DL - this was delivered as I was in the car about to drive away. I was so excited that I ripped open the box right in the car and took a photo immediately!

Groucho,

You asked for it. My first pic with the S2 IS. :rotfl2: Pic number IMG_0001. It is my daughter in the pic. Focusing issues? I think so. They got a bit better after that, I think.

Took me a while to find it, it was just sitting in my chair and taking a pic of the wall to see if it worked.

The pics on the wall are my ansestors through all 4 sets of great grandparents

Here is mine- DSC_0001. Like you Groucho- taken in the car on the way home from getting the camera. (Wife was driving)

Well I can't locate the first images from my 2 digital point and shoots, but here is the first image I took with the Rebel XT. IT is not very first image taken with the camera because my Dad bought the camera just before he died. He left all his camera equipment to me. I actually had a hard time picking up the camera and using it, even though I had been wanting it for a while. I took my first pictures with it at the State Fair of Texas in 2005. I have since had no problems shooting anything and everything and have over 10,000 images shot with it so far.

couldn't swear this was the first as i lost the numbers when i moved them but the b&w of this says copy 01-1 so i'm guessing it is:confused3 if not it's from the first day at least

Great idea Groucho!!:thumbsup2 Andy, I got a chuckle out of yours, I've got a few of those and they're NOT my firsts!!

Ok, my first picture is kind of embarrassing between the temporary curtain that's too short for the window and Kenny Chesney on tv  so I'll post my second picture also. These were taken with my Pentax K100D (I don't know what my firsts are with my other cameras).

Picture #1...Yes, I'm a Kenny fan but that's not why I took this picture!!

Interesting idea! This is the first one I can find that was taken with my D70 (12/22/04), although it is DSC_002, so there must have been one I deleted.

I'll have to do some digging to see if I can track down the first images shot with our 2 p & s digitals.

If no one minds can I expand on this thread just a little? Here is the first ever shot with my new LENS (almost as exciting as a new camera) 105mm f2.8 macro. My sunglasses sitting on my desk were the most compelling thing in sight after I picked the lens up on my lunch break. (I think my keys were next) :)

OK - These are truly the first pictures I took with my current camera. It was Christmas Eve 2003 and we were driving down to my sister's in southern Maryland (2 hours from our house) and DH said I should open his present to me early IN THE CAR. (Insert screams of delight and tears here!!!!!) I couldn't believe he had read up, bought, and selected a great digital camera (Canon SureShot G5). For almost 2 years I had been maxing out on a cheap, freebie digital camera that came with one of our computers.

So during our drive down I had to quickly read the manual and figure out how to use this camera to take family pictures and then once we got there; charge up the batteries. No expectations here from anyone since I am the unofficial family photographer since my Dad died the previous June. In fact I was bringing scrapbook photo albums of my pictures for everyone as gifts that year with me! Yikes!

Well, after getting there. Setting up the camera. Charging the batteries (which are great by the way) and being lost with the settings at first! Here goes!!!!!

Great idea for a thread, Groucho!!

Too funny, Andrew. The first with my S3 were actually pretty decent, but things went downhill from there, LOL. (Actually, it's probably because I began playing around with the settings.)

Anyway, I just happen to have my first shots taken with my S3 already on Photobucket. Here they are. I got the camera in November, so I haven't done a lot with it outside yet. These were taken in a mall, then outside, at night/no flash, at an Enchanted Village. (Somewhere I have my first digital pics ever taken with both my old HP cameras - will post later.)

Either your chair is really low or that furniture on the left is really high!

The "new lens" is not a bad idea, either.

it is a 55 gallon fish tank.... that and the angle makes it look funny. Hey a first picture with a new camera isn't supposed to be a work of art or anything. At least it wasn't my foot or something like that

Heres the first pic I took with my (then) brand new Sony DSC-P100 p+s. :)
Bought it at the airport duty free shop on trip to Spain. :)

Am anxiously awaiting the arrival tomorrow of a Sony Cybershot H2, :yay: so will have to post the first pic taken with it also :)

Thanks- I have the first shot with my 10mm also but it will never be posted as it is a dreadful self portrait that I’m surprised didn’t melt my sensor. :rotfl:

Here's some pictures from Jan 2006 after receiving late Christmas presents, just before last trip to WDW.

Here's my first picture (DSC_0001.jpg) from my Nikon D50 with my Nikon 18-200 VR lens.

My first (actually 2nd) photo with my first digital camera - a little Kodak C330 - which I bought to practice with! Don't know what happened to the first photo - I must have deleted it!

This is a camelia flower in my garden - I have had some trouble getting my camelias to flower, and this was actually the first year I have had more than just one flower !!!!
