Show me your family shirts, please!

Here are some of our designs through the years.

I bought this design from a seller on Etsy and used my Cricut and heat transfer vinyl.

This was from our very first family trip - we were BIG P&F fans. This was on the back.View attachment 256297

This has become a "traditional" shirt for us. Used a template and fabric paint for the Mickey head. Found these iron-on letters that resemble the Mickey font.

We've done tie-dye Mickey twice. These are a favorite. They match in colors, but aren't identical (the beauty of tie-dye). And they looked great in the pictures from AK.

This last one (pardon the chocolate!) I made using a word cloud. Getting it transferred on to the shirt wasn't easy - you can sort of see the outline of the transfer paper, not necessarily in the picture but IRL.

I love your tie dye ones! DH loves to tie dye, so maybe I can convince him to do mickey ones too. They turned out great for you!

ETA: How did you do the mickey head? What kind of dye did you use?

Thanks! If you do a Google search, there are lots of tutorials on how to do the tie-dye Mickey that explain the process a lot better than I can. I basted the outline of the Mickey head with waxed dental floss and pulled it SUPER tight. Because of that step, it takes a good bit of time to get the shirts prepped. (And there's more to making the shirt beyond basting the outline.) I think that the red dye I used was so "strong" that it bled into the tied off Mickey outline. So, for some of the shirts I actually used some white fabric paint over the outline to make it stand out more.

I *love* Dharma Trading for tie-dye dyes. Those shirts are 4 years old and they are practically still as vibrant. I will never buy any other tie dye!

My girls and I wore these in WDW when we went in 2015. I ordered the transfers from Etsy.

We did matching shirts on our last trip, but only to the Christmas party. I happened to come across matching shirts for all four of us on the Disney Store website clearance. It was fate. I needed four shirts in four different cuts (Men's, ladies, little girl, baby boy) and they were all there in the correct sizes. I couldn't not buy them!

For this next trip I don't think we'll match, but rather coordinate. So we'll have a theme that everyone dresses around like Toy Story. But not every day. DH wouldn't go for that.

Yup, I'll second Dharma. Don't waste your time, or money using anything less. Their stuff is absolutely amazing.

I think you can go different ways with family shirts. You can go with totally the same, matching with variations on color, or just an overall theme. I've done different ones to get my family to agree.

Tie-dye Mickey heads that the kids and I made together

A non-Disney group with everyone wearing shirts from the same university

Matching shirts where I got the design from one of the DISigners on this board (different colored shirts made it easier to get my husband to agree to wearing them)

Kids name fill shirts made using Word

@Jfsag123 DING DING DING your the winner for best shirts. Your blessed with a very talented MIL.

Ha! Well thank you. That was the first time we ever did matching shirts. We'd talked about trying to do the tshirts, but I'm useless when it comes to that stuff so I asked MIL about it. That's what she came up with.
