DD made junior high show choir!! :dance3: We are very excited for her and proud of her.

Every year this show choir goes on a trip to perform. I have been told that it is usually to WDW. We were already planning to go to wdw next year for spring break.

My question is this: For any Show Choir parents, if your group has performed at WDW; is it usually around a school holiday? I am hoping that it is right around spring break and that we will be able to just extend the trip to include our family vacation along with the days there with the choir.

We haven't met with the choir director yet, but I am hoping the meeting next week will give me this information or at least something to go by. I usually have our reservations made this far out from a trip and was kind of hoping to get moving on it.

DD17 has been in her show choir for 3 years and they have taken a trip every years. NONE of them has been a spring break. I chaperoned her choir trips when she was in middle school, but since moving to high school I have not. She's a good kid and the others in the show choir are good kids. I'm not at all worried about her going off. She's been going on tour since she was 10; she knows how to behave herself. And all the tours are well-chaperoned. They don't put up with much.

congrats to your DD! i LOVED my show choir - we were called Pizazz. i miss my purple fully-sequined dress!

Congrats to your daughter! I loved show choir!! Many moons ago when I was in show choir we went to WDW during my senior year. We also didn't go during spring break, I believe it was shortly before school let out for the year. Maybe end of April, beginning of May? The memory is a little foggy.

We were Pizazz, too! We wore red sequined dresses

Sadly, we didn't take a trip outside of the regular choir tour (which was not anywhere near a school holiday)

That is the one good thing. I know dd would be fine going without me if absolutely necessary. She would know exactly how to behave and I have known the choir director for years so I trust her completely. But, I am one of the few parents with the ability to take off from work easily. Between having the same days off they do and having enough vacation days to take off for the choir trip and for our vacation, it really wouldn't be fair of me NOT to offer to chaperon, regardless of where they go.

I used to LOVE chaperoning choir tours. :goodvibes I think I had as much fun as the kids did.

DD17 had her big end of year performance tonight. It was really great. They sang selections from "Sweeney Todd." All I could think about was Johnny Depp. :cloud9:

Now, I would have LOVED that!! :cloud9:

I am really excited about the next few years and following the show choir around.
