Shouldn't Southwest Flights be released today?

Interesting. But only August? I needed a return on September 1st, so I would have been out of luck for that leg?

Very disappointed with the new flight schedules out of Hartford CT (BDL) We used to get 3 non stops a day, morning, afternoon and evening, to MCO. The new schedule has one each day. So DGS and I will be getting up at the butt crack of dawn for our 6:40AM Labor Day flight down and losing our last park day for a 10AM return flight the following Saturday. Prices were good- $89 each way per ticket but the times suck!!!

Things may change. They may add new flights. They might just be being cautious right now, with everything that is going on. Easier to deal with one flight cancellation than with 3.

Maybe but I've been flying this route for about 20 years on SWA and adding flights has never happened once a schedule opened. I do think this has more to do with the MAX 737 issue than the coronavirus (altho what do I know?!?!?) I will of course watch constantly cuz I am OCD about my Disney vacations!

The last thing they need is MAX. They have too many planes. They’re probably just trying to figure out what demand will actually be. Nobody needs or wants new planes right now. All airlines will defer whatever orders they can. You’ll probably see the retirement schedule accelerate as well. 747’s and A380’s will probably be the first ones to be flown to the desert first.

Delta just announced its reducing system capacity by 40% which is more than they reduced after 9/11.

They only had about 30-50 when they got grounded. They have over 700 planes.

American announced its going to retire it’s 767’s in May and retire it’s 757’s beginning May through next year. KLM also announced its 747 fleet will retire immediately (they were supposed to fly them until early 2021).

Tough times ahead.

They completely stopped direct flights to Vegas too. SW has always been our go to but we may have to venture to a different airline to some destinations.

Yes, I am beginning to look at Jet Blue but I still have points to fly free on SWA. Free is good and worth some aggravation.
