Should You Hold Off On That SSR Purchase...

What are "VCR points?"

Jennz - Those are fictional Villas at Contemporary Resort points.

Whereas most people here would like to believe that these are coming soon, it's all just a lot of rumors right now.

I'm curious if someone couldnt just check applications for construction permits in the town disney world is in to solve this mystery?

Update: all Orange County FLA permits are available to the public via a simple phone request if anyone is that interested in it!

*sigh*

Look people, we've already been through this. It won't be VCR or CRV.

Due to the less-than-gracefully aging design of the Contemporary, DVD has decided to go with an equally dated Villa theme (they really have no choice, if they didn't the tower would look completely out of place). The plan is to take a Disney classic attraction and use it to style a retro-look DVC resort. For a mental picture, imagine a shabby-chic Pop-Century. The natural pick of rides for the CR is Jungle Cruise because what could be more dated?

It's going to be a lot of fun; a boat will take you to your room, they'll be elephants in the pool, a gorilla will turn over cars in the parking lot and so forth.

Anyway, the new resort will be named the Contemporary Resort Adventure Properties.

Careful, rinky or you're going to inspire some poetry of your own....

Oh, don't worry about me. I've just bought into a new timeshare program at the Betty Ford Clinic.

Are you rooming with Whitney Houston and Snow White? :rotfl:

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: too much cowbell. :sad2:

I think that they experimented with that over at the Wilderness Lodge, only it was ducks instead of elephants in the pool. Same effect, only in smaller doses.

I would definitely want a piece of that resort.

I just started reading this thread about a special announcement on May 5th. Well, that's today. Anyone heard any news about a special announcement?

I saw this on the member website and I had not seen the info before.

"As a Disney Vacation Club Member, you'll be happy to know that the move west is more than just an expansion in marketing. It's also an expansion of Member offerings, as the newest additions to the Concierge Collection include four California destinations -- The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa in Monterey, The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in Sonoma, La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, and Resort at Squaw Creek in Tahoe. Learn more about the Disney Vacation Club Concierge Collection

The great news from the West Coast doesn't end here, as Disney Vacation Club is finalizing plans for a variety of new perks Members can enjoy at the Disneyland Resort. Look for updates here on the Member Web site, as well as in Member Clubhouse and Vacation Magic, as details become available in the coming months."

You know, DVC really needs to send us all free t-shirts to wear at the DLR. Walking advertisements for "the best kept secret". ;)

Great idea! Calypso, I think you should pitch the idea to them! :rotfl:
They could send us all down there w/our DVC t-shirts on, and let them all in on our ''best kept secret''.
On second thought, how would that effect the booking window if everyone knew?? :rotfl2:
